Pity there isn't going to be an option for an external wifi antenna, then we could use the Pandora a little further away from access points (like in my back garden :) )

Pity there isn't going to be an option for an external cappucino machine so I can play games AND make coffee in my garden.. Or perhaps an option for an interstellar time machine?

Just add it yourself by splicing the internal antenna. Maybe MWeston was kind enough to run it out to a pin on the header, though. :D

Dang! I knew I'd forgotten the most important one.

(Well, not really. Or what'd you guys think I had in mind with the videos and the comics and the surfing?) :)

You know, I hardly ever do remote desktopping. Don't really know why though...

The presentation thing is indeed promising, provided the video out will include the possibility to show "normal" applications on a TV screen. I used to use my Archos PMA430 for the occasional presentation and even at its abysmal resolution (522x384), it was a lot better than drawing pictures on a napkin.

I think this should work, how about playing Crysis and Oblivion on the Pandora? (not actually, but via your home network off of a PC.)

What about using a webcam and turning it into a portable DVR? Or Dual Webcams and using it to make 3D movies?

Tuning your car? Adding accelerometers and using it as a real-world chassis dyno? (or just interfacing it with a wii controller :D, in fact you could bolt the Wii controller to the approximate center of gravity in your car ;)).

I really want to watch movies off of my home server over the wifi, and I guess listen to music (the memory card doesn't need to be too big because I could swap out my collection on the fly :), of course 8GB cards are only $30-35, 8GB!!!?!?).

TV remote, it has the buttons and would make a killer TV Remote, in fact I could use it to troubleshoot building a remote for a device I have without a remote.

I think it would be useful as a wireless router (/cracker tool/secure web server/ other misc network geekery) but doubt anybody wants to pay $~400 for just a router...

Portable media center idea sounds nice ;)

Hopefully drawing and coding on the go too (I enjoy having the freedom to go "Oh, that's what I needed to do!" and then sit down and do it!)

Random on-the-go writing, hopefully using it as a backup mouse and keyboard mix for times when a keyboard or mouse dies (I already use my GP32 for mouse when need be...), usb joypad (hopefully charging from usb using either of the aforementioned ideas)

Is the movie player not going to be like the shit on the GP2X F200? That will be the feature I'd like to use the most, given that it doesn't take me an arm and a leg to get it working. This is the worst feature about the GP2X F200, the video player (music player is buggy as hell too, wtf were you thinking GPH?)

If the Debian (ARM) package support turns out to be decent, then we'll have a lot of desktop linux media players to use. Maybe not optimized for a portable device as far as interface goes but they should do nicely while we wait for a better interface to be made.

Well I hope we get the package because the movie player aggravated me a lot to the point where I dont really use it.

That is why I am so grateful that the Pandora is made by involved community members that know what was wrong and what everyone wanted (I unfortunately missed out on this period).

VLC has a completely configurable keyboard interface and so does Mplayer (VLC is easier to configure from a menu). In any case, I prefer my portable media players to be fullscreen and not have space wasted on blingy interfaces.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This thing is gonna be pretty sick for schoolwork. If you can load it with Wikipedia and a language translator I'll be using it every day.

Also VLC would be awesome. No more re-encoding videos. :D

an organiser. like mozzila sunbird for all my hw.

An internet browser for class. I hacked the wireless password so i can do that.

It really depends on what gets made.
