Looks to me like all the bugs introduced in this new version have been fixed now, good work! Market prices are indeed working again, even with the market observer OXP. I've not noticed any weird dark lines when torus jumping - just the standard dark and light lines that appear instead of space dust when you do that (you just don't normally see the dark ones unless you're pointing at something light). I nixed BGS too, which brought back the standard hyperspace and docking animations.
Having briefly mentioned on the other oolite thread a problem with regards to the mfd's (multi function displays)
These are switched on/off and chosen using the ":" and ";" keys, unfortunately, although they are mentioned in the config, the keys aren't responsive, is there a way to "activate" these keys, as i'm aware that some keys, especially the fn +"whatever key" don't seem to work with the Pandora..
Canel this ...my brain is severely not working today

To go along with the new release, the official website has has an upgrade as well. Among other things it has a detailed "getting started" guide, and a full, constantly updating listing of all available OXZs.
So I updated to the latest version.. and also changed my SGX driver version to the one levi suggested. Rebooted started the game - all went well until I went into combat, and suddenly the frame rate started dropping into single digits and the controls became really really sluggish, then the game froze. I was still able to ssh in so I checked dmesg and noticed that the SGX was in a constant crash and recovery cycle that continued even after I killed oolite.
Switched back to default SGX drivers and rebooted again (I even took the battery out for a bit) and restarted the game.
This is better but it's still a lot more sluggish than the last build was...
I ssh'd in again and noticed this sort of thing appearing in dmesg during flight and especially combat:

Yeah that one works much better... none of the sluggishness. There were a few instances of:
[102701.185180] pvr: oolite: IOCTL 69 failed (13)in the dmesg output but nowhere near as many. (less than 1 screenful after a couple of hours play time)
- Neelix
I am a new oolite player and am working through the training missions (using the 1.80 build on the repo). I also see fps drop to 1-2 when the first combat mission occurs. Occasionally the speed increases again, depending on where I am facing.
I would like to exit the training mission, but Esc and the Pandora button dont exit my game. How do I quit without cold-rebooting my pandora?
Shift-Escape to quit, (as Escape (twice) is used for launching an escape pod. In this case that means hold shift then press FN-Q (The order is important, if you press Fn before shift you end up with capslock instead)
You can also quit from the F2 menu while docked or paused.
Thanks much! It looks like this is one I may be playing on PC rather than Pandora, mainly because it is difficult for me to see exactly where enemies and objects are in the radar view.
Are the savegames compatible between versions? (could I copy the PC savegame to Pandora and vice versa?)
Yes, the save games are totally compatible however after spending a lot of time on both PC and Pandora, i find Pandora so much easier to use than PC, Just have a looksee at the HUDs available, it makes a tremendous difference to the Pandora, i recommend the NumericHUD, it is so much clearer and easier to understand, plus it works well with so many AddOns... give it a try (it only a personal opinion obviously )

Latest versions of the NumericHud also include the non-linear scanner by default.. so even when you zoom in, you can still keep track of distant objects as well.
(Though I'm not sure how well Norby's addition of 4 MFDs will look on the Pandora!)
