Nintendo 3DS

This is quite surprising - the first Mega Man game is going to be released on the 3DS' Virtual Console service (in Japan, at least, but there's no reason that it won't turn up in the West, as well).

It will be the first third-party NES release for the 3DS, assuming that Capcom doesn't decide to cancel it, first. (After all, MegaMan Legends 3: Prototype Version was set to be the first third-party 3DSWare release, too...)

Looks like this is Capcom's "big" anniversary plan for the Mega Man series...

EDIT: And air-fresheners, apparently...

For any of you guys/gals looking to pre-order the 3DS XL here in the states, Newegg as them up.

Their not quite as good as Amazon, but very close. No tax depending on your location, and free 3day shipping, which is normally 1day shipping, also depending on your location. I'm hoping Amazon USA will get them, as I have a 25 dollar credit there. Plus they offer release day shipping for 99cents. Sadly, Amazon has had problems with Nintendo and the 3DS in the past, so no one knows if they will carry these or not.

Sadly, Amazon has had problems with Nintendo and the 3DS in the past, so no one knows if they will carry these or not.
Similar story here: Amazon UK had the most pre-orders for the 3DS in the UK, and botched the launch. All those who pre-ordered very late and went for the freebie "no guarantees" shipping got theirs both on launch-day and the day before, whereas for those who pre-ordered on day one, and paid extra to guarantee delivery on launch day, Amazon UK didn't bother to send them out at all - but, of course, they made it so that you couldn't cancel your order at that point.

I was one of those affected, and wrote about it at length on the day, here, and actually had to send them a quite forceful message in the end demanding a cancellation in spite of them not allowing me to enact it, so that I could go out and buy one locally, instead (they then tried to dress up a full refund for products that they guaranteed to deliver, but failed to, as "goodwill").

So many people were affected by this (since, as noted, Amazon UK had the lion's share of UK pre-orders for the 3DS), that Nintendo UK seemingly refused to sell them any new lines for about six months! (It meant that I had to go out to the shops to buy Solatorobo, for example, which Amazon UK never carried as a result of this.)

I've since observed reports of them doing the same with other products, too, and I'm amazed that nobody else seems to be noticing that this is now a continuing pattern.

I can't say that I would ever want to deal with Amazon UK for hardware at its launch again. :p

I'm not exactly sure what went on here in the states, as neither party has ever issued any factual statements, but it is believed that Amazon got to many returns of the 3DS due to the nub touching the top screen issue, and then Nintendo didn't want to take back all of the the faulty units. Others have stated that they have sold them since, but they only do small quantities, and then once they sell out, it takes awhile to restock.

I already had my unit when the troubles started, so I never really bothered to watch their site for units or not. 3rd party vendors do sell them, but I'm not sure if the main company ever stocks them or not.

This link leads to the product page for them here in the states, but it doesn't allow for preorders, and it could just be a place holder for the 3rd party vendors, once it is released. Who Knows?

I personally love Amazon, and I have never had any issues, and when I did, they went above and beyond to correct them. I really hope they do preorders, as I have a credit, and I love to get release day shipping for 1 dollar, plus zero taxes is another bonus. If they don't stock them, I'll just go with Newegg I guess. They don't offer release day shipping, but their free 3 day shipping normally comes out of California, so I still get it next day, so it's all good I guess.

Same here, though i'd add games to the list as well. I pre-ordered a copy of LOZ: Phantom Hourglass from them however a few days after the release date it still hadn't arrived, I emailed them to ask why, the reply was that they had changed the product ID just before the launch and that if I wanted a copy I would have to re-order it, needless to say I canceled my order and purchased the game from a different retailer.

I had a run in with Amazon about some vouchers my son received from his school for the hard work he put in throughout the year. I avoid Amazon completely now - their Customer (Dis?)Service leaves a lot to be desired.

When I'm ready, just going to the local gamestop and hand them over my treasure chest. You can pre-order there in a lay away sort of thing until the unit comes out. I still got another month to pile up my cash.

WOW, these Amazon stories are amazing. The UK division sounds terrible. Every issue I have ever had here in the states has been handle promptly and without issue. I have been given credits up the wazoo, damaged replacements have been sent to me next day air, and then I have 30 days to return the original on their dime, the list go's on and on.

The only issues I have ever partially had, where with some of their vendors, and those where always corrected as well, they just took longer to handle since we had to deal with 3 parties instead of 2.

Honestly, I think if I contacted them right now to complain that their not offering the 3DS XL for preorder and that I might take my business elsewhere, I'm pretty sure they would give me a credit of some kind and an apology ASAP. The USA Amazon has the best customer service I have ever experianced in my life and I have dealt with almost every CS known to man.

^^^^^ no!It is illeegal for men to buy pink.We must preserve our manliness in this post feminist world!!
Pink is actually a colour aimed at males, and blue at girls... Do some research. ;)

Is it ok to ask what happened with this run-in? I've never heard a story of them messing up with anything relating to vouchers, before - just goods and orders.

The UK division sounds terrible.
Well, in fairness to them, by and large, they're not horrendous. Much of the time, they're actually quite good - but when they're doing some form of promotion or pre-order, they can and do screw up.

^ Yes, yes, I know that. But I couldn't think of any better succinct way of writing my main point.

What was I supposed to do, write "Pink is actually a combination of neural trickery aimed at males, and blue at girls... Do some research. ;) ", instead? ;)
