To be released soon!

More information will follow...

I'm just building some expectations now, which is step 1 of ekianjo's 7-step guide to success ;)

For now, all you get is this screenshot:

Looking forward to seeing this in action, if it's half as good as microbes then it'll be awesome. :)

Well, it is a completely different genre than Microbes, so it's hard to compare. In my opinion it's more fun, more action, less thinking (actually no thinking), no learning curve, less replay-value.

Here's the description I'm putting in the PXML:

Code:
You control a creature called "the NubNub". It eats yellow stuff
to grow. If it grows big enough, you go to the next level.
The NubNub has to avoid the red stuff, because it hurts and
makes the NubNub shrink. If the NubNub shrinks too much, it dies.

Eating yellow stuff, but especially green stuff, makes the NubNub
have more attraction power to better attract yellow stuff.
Touching blue stuff diminishes attraction power and turns it
into repulsion, which makes it hard to eat yellow stuff.

Pandora NubNub! is a fast-paced, original arcade-style game
with simple vector graphics and cool music. It is played with
both nubs.

Sounds interesting, look forward to seeing a bit more of it

Well looks nice! and does it use the Nubs? :p

EDIT: It DOES! What a shocker!

EDIT2: Also the concept seems very similar to CromoZome... not claiming prior art, but possibility of inspiration? :)

Well, I think the game concept of CromoZome is more interesting and complicated than that of NubNub. The basic gameplay of CromoZome is much like (multiplayer) Snake though, while NubNub only superficially resembles Snake: it is not grid-based, you cannot hurt yourself, and the overall feel is more like a top-down shooter, only you don't have a space ship but some weird elastic thing, and you cannot shoot ;)

And of course it's played with the nubs, not the dpad :)

Sounds better than dpaddpad.
Yes, and also, we only have one dpad :)

Actually you can play it with the dpad if you want (or if one or both of your nubs are broken). The dpad replaces the left nub, the ABXY keys replace the right nub. But I can assure you, the difference between 8 directions on/off (dpad) and any-direction any-force (nub) is huge.

Some more teasing...

I cannot believe how wonderfull your Game is.....
....first i thought:(oh a Snake Clone)
But i was so false with this first impression.
Played 5 Times and getted up to the 18th Level.
A Video is made but i must work on more Quality before i upload it.
Now i am underway to my Girlfriend and i think this Evening have you a Video from me.

Its like Drugs want to play it more and more to get better Highscore.
Had 2 Crashes and dont know why,but i think its Nub related.

When you want to sell this Game over Pandora Repo will i definly buy it,so good is it.
5 Euro can you afford easily :)

You know I'm like your games.

Awesome to see something new.

It's not that new for me.

I'm playing NubNub with some RMA Pandoras.

Very exciting!  I like the testimonial from ingoreis as well.  He knows his stuff.  A homegrown Pandora game produced especially for our platform is always a plus in my book.  You had me at Microbes.....I can't wait.  :)

I can say its superb ^_^

Fast on Rebirth and 1GHZ Pandora..

...and when you play a little, can you become addicted :D

The Game use both Nubs at the same Time.

Never played a Game like this before..realy a new Action Gametype ;)

Written entirely on-pandora? :)

Well maybe I misspoke?  I sometimes assume things when I shouldn't leap to conclusions.  I have no idea if _wb_ worked on this game specifically FOR the Pandora...and I would doubt that he would enjoy coding the entire thing ON the Pandora for obvious reasons.  I'm just excited about the whole thing.  I like games of this nature...reactionary and fast-paced...like Tetris or Super Hexagon...this looks really intriguing.  I don't know _wb_'s work outside of the Pandora, so maybe he produces games for other platforms and ports them...hadn't really thought about it until now.

It's written completely on the Pandora - at least the code. The music is not made by me, and it was made in the early nineties and not on the Pandora but on the Amiga :)

It's also written specifically for the Pandora. It would be straightforward to port it to any other device (given that it's just C++ and SDL), but there just are not that many devices with two built-in nubs, so I don't think that makes much sense. It would be very hard to play with the nubs mapped to regular pc keyboard keys or something like that.

Here is a video by ingoreis, the video capture has some issues (it's an issue of the capture, not the game itself), but at least it gives you some idea of what the game is like:

Yes the Sound is perfect too. ^_^

Sorry for that Video Capture Issues,i tried differrent Software and ever the same stuttering Result.

I think its because my cheap USB Capture Cable

I promise that the Game runs so fast and smoothly,i lost nearly my Eyes....

...felt a little like a Chameleon(When one Eye show on another Point at the other Eye) :D

And it make soooooo Fun ^_^

looks REALLY cool, its sure to be another Pandora Classic like Microbes! i hope it has a steep difficulty curve, something i feel decent games deserve. How many levels will it have? and will it support C4A?

I think he wrote Microbes entirely on Pandora ;)

Its not such a stretch.. as I say, the Pandora is about as powerful as a laptop not that long ago; you could ssh into it, but may be 'cheating' for this purpose, but plugging in a keyboard and/or mouse certainly works fine and would still count as 'entirely on Pandora'..
