New Firmware Due @ End Of Month (ish)

Don't you want 10 second boots? And a useful file viewer? And better battery life?

Yes, no and yes. But as far as I know none of GPH's updates address the issues I'm bothered about.

I'm staying on 1.4.0. If they fix the scanlines, boo.
I do want a verbose boot, though. I doubt GPH could care to add that though. There's a tool for it, if I remember; that may be for utilities only though. It's used to "fill in the black screens that don't tell you anything".

hmm, nothing can beat cramfs :)
Well, hopefully theoddbot will add their new features into his cramfs firmware and then we will get the best stuff from each of them.

I hope they fix the autobrick bug.
That isn't part of the firmware, it is part of the u-boot, and art103 has already fixed this, as meantioned earlier in this thread. A link to art103's u-boot was posted a little ways back.

ohhhhh yeaaaaah, thats nice, art has a nice big don't use this disclaimer on the uboot lol... the whole "WARNING: Updating U-Boot will probably render your GP2x a Brick." thing has scared me away from it... man i wish there was a safer way to do this, i don't wanna waste $230 on somthing i'm gunna have for 5 minutes and it bricks itself, or i try to save it and it bricks anyway... heh, crazy...

What are you insane? I hate them so much, makes watching my videos a pain and playing my games, there is nothing good about scanlines or interlacing.
I like it, feels more retro.

guess what.... YOU ARE FULL OF IT!!!
Like that would be actually possible... hot, gamer AND female...

well send some pictures for proof :D

but it *IS* better if GPH doe the 'official firmware' releases .. coz not everyone's gonna lurk in #gp2xdev and get all the bleeding bins for their soup'ed up gp2x's.

what i want: the hackers get the kernel supreme, give it to GPH, GPH run with it .. that'd be the best of all worlds.
