My Touch Screen Just Quit Working For No Reason!!!!

dunno what the bezel even IS???

And my nub isn't working right, either, anyway.
The bezel on pandoras is slightly bowed somewhat. the grey plastic running horizontally and directly beneath your lcd screen. If you look down at the screen at an angle you may see that the plastic ie bezel has a small gap where it does not make contact with the screen. If dirt fell into this area it would be the same as having the touchscreen permanently pressed down. Its not a multi touch screen.

Are you sure, that all the clips on the top part, surrounding the screen are snapped in correctly?
I'm not.

But I never unsnapped them.

There IS a visible hump in the left side along the top of the screen, as mentioned above.

Incidentally, the mouse nub doesn't work, really, either....it moves the pointer, but only a fraction of an inch, and it bounces around the top of the screen, over and over...this is just weird.

But Link is supposed to get me an RMA tonight via email, so we'll see what happens then.
No, this is not weird.

That's exactly why we asked above whether the mouse movement with the left nub works or not.

If it snaps back to the top, then it's either the top middle clip that sprang out (just clip it back in) or some piece of dirt in the top middle area.

The middle clip sounds a lot more likely though.

Just push the inner lid in the top middle back down and that's it.
Didn't help.

Got my RMA from Link.  He suggested also trying to hit it with some pressurized air when turned off around the edges of the screen, and THAT got the nubs working again, but not the touchscreen.

EDIT: Messing around a bit with the bezel...as suggested by others in this post....made the nubs quit working again.  And nothing snapped down or anything....but it looks to me like the area where the hump is....may not be in place properly, I am not sure, but no amount of pressing would make it move, or snap in or anything.  It just made the nubs not work.

THEN...I powered off again, and hit it with the pressurized air again...and the nubs come back to work right....but STILL no touchscreen.

SO....I'm sending in on back to Link, I'm sure he will get it sorted out.

I bet some of you whizzes here could get it fixed, but I'm not that technically able.  I tried what I could try...I don't want to try anything else, or pressing the bezel any harder, don't want to do any extra damage.

Link has been very communicative about this so far, I'm sure he will take care of me.

Gonna suck to be without a Pandy for a while, but....nothing else I can do about it.  short of running it up to Vermont myself, and that's a ten hour drive at least.

Sweet.  I knew Link would help me.

As I indicated to Link in our private communication...I had been pressing down as hard as I dared...on those clips on the top, and it did not help...and Link informed me I should have been PULLING OUT first, rather than pushing in...to make the screen move back to the right place, and then the clips would have gone in.

I'll be crossed, though, if I can explain how those clips ever came undone, since I never dropped it or bumped it or subjected it to extremes in temperature, and CERTAINLY never tried to take it apart!!

And, just as an aside...interestingly, based on his phone number, I discovered that Link...while he may now be in Vermont...is from a place about a 40 minute drive from my house!  If only he still lived THERE I coulda drove the sucker to him same day!!  Heck, my doctor client for my business has an office in that same town, so I have reason to go there sometimes, anyway!
