Is like elw3 say...
I had a first contact via Vodafone but I was standing on the roof of a high-rise building in Berlin and the "celltower" was < 50m away as the crow flies. Optimal conditions but only two bars... :-(
From experiences with my LTE Stick... Problems with the power supply or with the antenna possible?
My Stick needs round about 500mA with a strong signal and up to 1,5A with nearly "no signal".
Does the built-in modem have an additional antenna connector? Looks like I need a screwdriver ;-)
Unfortunately not. The connector you'll find in there is simply the connector for the test equipment.
And that's still the weird thing: The antenna has been measured with professional equipment, so the hardware itself should be fine.
So I still guess there's something wrong with the driver / setup / whatever.
You can try LetuxOS which might work better, as that's the one hns uses. Aditionally, if his Pyra is just idling, the battery lasts around 14 hours. Something our OS doesn't do, so it seems there's a lot more going on in our OS setup that eats battery.
Maybe some component that's switched on does disturb reception as well?
The biggest problem with the Pyra is that we don't really have any dev like notaz who delves into such issues and fixes them :/
