Release Mod/midi tracker

Well, Milkytracker is GPL and already has a GP2X port, so I assume that'll be an easy port.

I guess there are Linux-based MIDI sequencers as well, but I don't know of any offhand.

Even if none are ported (which is unlikely) you will be able to run Octamed Soundtudio under Amiga emulation. Hopefully an AHI driver will exist for direct access to the sound chip, rather than relying on 14-bit emulated sound!

Alternatively there are another load of trackers that should run fine under DOSbox.

I'm pretty good friends with the author of littlegptracker (piggy!), and I for sure will help with a port of that to the Pandora if he asks for it - far as I know he's not getting a Pandora (already did the GP2X dance) yet, so maybe I'll just help him do the port with mine when it arrives ..

See if that stomps me asking the guy to port it.

Edit- That was gonna be stops but I think I'll keep it.

LSDJ

It would be great to see something like an LSDJ http://www.littlesounddj.com/lsd/port, I would even buy a copy of it on a SD card if it was available, for larger programs Renoise http://www.renoise.com/download/renoise/is pretty amazing and there is a linux version but that might be too big a program to run on Pandora.. with the screen and memory constraints...

Here is a post with some videos of both of them
http://www.microvintage.net/2008/02/13/chip-tunes-tutorials-using-renoise-reason-lsdj/

I would be happy with any music sampling program or Synth.. one with some similarities to something like a module based program like Reason would be amazing though...

there is definitely an 8 bit scene building though.. I think the Pandora would be great for that..

I've been looking for a tracker that has MIDI-out support, and the only one I've come across is Renoise. I love Renoise to death, but I doubt we'll ever see an ARM port of it. Does anyone know any other Linux trackers with MIDI-out?

as muh as we'd dream to see it, the current renoise is out of the question for appearing on the pandora. now, if the pandora community really showed interest in the app then maybe the renoise devs would be willing to consider a 'lite' version. but even then we should not expect anything cheap, even less so free (for those unfamiliar, renoise is a commercial DAW - digital audio workstation - app, in the <100usd range).
