Camp www.dell.com and wait for a sale. Get a Pentium-M. If you ever want to run games on it, you'll need to spend around $200 more for one with on-chip video memory. If you don't mind it being total crap, look at Toshibas and Compaqs.

Why do you say this? Thought Toshiba made great laptops.

I have always found Toshiba laptops very reliable with my Win 3.1 laptop still going strong. Price wise though they might be beat by Dell, but in my opinion, not in quality.

Buy a Dell and you'll goto hell

:p lol

Dell has CRAP customer service In My Opinion...

They put out a Laptop Charger recall about 5 - 6 months ago, Our charger was affected so we filled the form out and dell said they would send a new one... It STILL hasn't arrived (that was over 5 months ago)!!!!!!

That must be a UK thing or something, since Dell customer support has always been top-notch for me.

I broke my AC Adapter (my fault) and asked for a replacement. Now since it was my fault, and out of warrenty, there wasn't much they could do about it. But they gave me a $30 coupon anyway, and with the 15% off from the sale they had on their online store, that brought the adapter down to $0.99! (plus $3 shipping). Can't beat that.

Oh, and most laptops are upgradable.
