I haven't got my Pandora, but with desktop or laptop Linux boxes my Apple USB ethernet device comes up as eth0 (or sometimes eth1, if udev has been renaming stuff).

Running it through a powered USB hub, I still get no response from my Pandora, guess whatever one I bought might simply not like Linux! (granted I did get it off ebay, where the description did claim that it was Linux compatible). It's no major worry, I usually use wifi anyway, was simply for occasional hotel access, and of course the ongoing "what can I plug into my Pandora next?" saga!! ;)

If you plugged it directly into the USB port first, your USB port has probably crashed and you need to reboot in order to bring it back, even plugging in through a hub.

Once you're sure of that, open a terminal and type "sudo lsusb" to actually see whether it's been picked up or not. If you don't see it there, there's probably a hardware failure.

I'll try give that a go over the weekend back at my parents (think I put the adapter in my bag!. The first time I tried the adapter I did plug it directly in, but that produced no results, so when I rebooted I went through the hub, I'm pretty sure that the USB port was working at that stage as my wireless mouse was working fine off the same hub. The Pandora is my first real Linux device, so I'm not sure of terminal commends yet, but I'll try then report back with the results! Thanks for the help anyway :)

Using a powered USB hub, I get this reply, doesn`t look like my Pandora recognises the adapter. It looks almost identical to the one currently on sale at panda-usb.com, maybe i just got a dud! the joys of ebay!!!
