I just got my GP in the mail and am at a total loss here.

I downloaded the launcher off gp32.com and put the NES emulator on at my friends house, but when I got home, my stinkin' mac won't even recognize the USB plug. I need help, I want to be able to upload roms, videos, and mp3s without having to go to my friend's :(

Any insight would be very helpful gp32_console

are u using the pc link program?
it wont reconize it if you aren't
when you do get it working download gpdrive

you are also going to have to format your smc
pc link will do it for you

did you install the usb drive?
if so, try turning your gp32 off and back on. Mine does that sometimes.

Do you mean what you download off the official website?

If that's what you're talking baout, i tried, and it wouldn't work, just asked if I wanted to boot up a Virtual PC(which I don't have)

Ok cool I've got that, I dragged it to my HD and opened it and it kept saying

Not in Directory/ blah/blah

Then it said no text fil by Mr. Spivey?

This thing doesn't want to co-operate with me :(

Try downloading gpdrive from this website. It may work. It comes up as a removable drive like 'H:'or 'I:'. The maclink does work, you just need to properly set up your gp32 driver as a usb link.

In the future though, NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER BUY A MAC!!!!!!!!!!
Only 5% of the entire world uses mac (95% ibm and microsoft) I'm afraid your gonna run into problems with everything. For example a lot of dvd ripping equipment won't work on your mac so your gp32 videos might suffer and absolutley hundreds of downloads work!

So i repeat, NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER BUY A MAC!!!!!!!!!!!

Ignore Sammster, if you want to buy a Mac go buy one, don't let anyone who wants to permanently live up Bill Gates' rectum tell you otherwise. :)

Mr Spiv has a Mac, and if its good enough for him, it should be good enough for everyone.

rule number one... NEVER EVER EVER EVER LISTEN TO IDIOTS this includes sammster because he has NO idea what he is talking about the idiot. Sure we have a smaller userbase but at least none of us are idiots like you! I have both a PC and a Mac and my mac is a thousand times better than my pc. Shut up sammster.

yup - it's called Freedom of Choice.
Choose the platform that works best for you -

You are probably smart enough not to waste your time validating your choice by
disrespecting others who have chosen differently.

It's called "respect" - and obviously, sammster001 is too immature to command or observe it.

thank god for Mr. Spiv & other kind individuals here at gp32x.de

Guntfuggly has released a cool GUI for Mr. Spivs maclink CLI here:

http://www.zaonce.com/tools/index.shtml

A USB memorycard reader/writer is the quickest way to put files on your SMC.
My guess, however, is that you can't launch your program on the GP32.
You'll need either the GP32 free launcher from here:

http://english.gamepark.com/

(granted, you'll need to create an account)
Other than that, consider alternative launchers/filemanagers for the GP32 like
Pacrom or Wind-ups.

Here's a good place to start, too:

http://faq.gp32emu.com/

The forums here provide a wealth of info for developing on ANY PLATFORM
regardless of the asshats who post bulljive about Macintosh.
Use the search function - Read, read, read, read.

Good luck !!
