DEFINATELY need sound for me. While I can enjoy some games w/o music, no sound at all makes it almost impossible for me to enjoy, except for a few games.
I'm surprised you guys can play SNES w/o sound at all... the sound on many SNES games was of almost CD music quality, and much of the music was fantastic... to try to play w/o it is almost a crime IMO. Even with homebrews though if there isn't some kind of sound I pass on them completely.
Though it will probably sound quite radical, no sound = no use for me. I can accept missing SFX, but as long as there is no music, I don't play it.
Try playing Castlevania : Bloodlines in DrMD with headphones, its great! If it was not for the bug in the 4th level that disallows any further progress, it would be the best Genesis game I have played so far.
voted for option 3. i hate it when a nearly perfect emulator is released and 90% of the people whine about it being slow with sound on.
that's my point. it's perfect for me if the graphics and gameplay are fine
no. i only play in public places and/or where my attention needs to be split (i.e. school), so i never bother using earphones.that's my point. it's perfect for me if the graphics and gameplay are fine
