actually the pandora's CPU is rated at 720mhz iirc, it's just undercocked to 600 for battery, so we could be looking at 800+mhz overcocks (or as the post says above, 900mhz)
We're still not sure. The original spec said 600, the ones put in the Pandora were purchased when TI were only selling them as 600s. When they started selling the 720s, there was a lot of speculation as to whether these were 600s that passed an overclock test, or if they were all actually capable of 720 and TI was just doing some marketing magic a la Intel. Now that it seems they've completely dropped the 600s and all processors going forward are going to be marked 720 (from what I understand, don't quote me on that) it does seriously suggest that they discovered all their processors were stable over 720 mhz, so we should be fine.
At work so I may try to find the related thread of this later tonight.
There was a big discussion about if our chips were bought and being held prior to the 720 version, and what implications that may or may not have. E.g. could they have a higher overclock, less overclock than subsequent Pandora releases. (One of the Dev's has an insider who they tried to get additional information from)
But my view:
If our rated default speed was 720, OP would've said and upped the spec. A downclock from 720 to 600 just to get a little more battery life just wouldn't have been on the cards, bigger selling point would be faster processor as battery life would still be extremely good.
