GPD WIN MAX ANNOUNCED

Circa ~1997... IBM PC110. I had thought about buying one back when they were still new, but back then $1000 was a -lot- of money. Not to mention I would have to buy it on the grey market from Japan and the original OS was in Japanese. Some day I would like to actually be able to see one of these in person.

Note the central track pad between the top controls. 7 row keyboard (tiny keys, not touchtype) - I wonder if it has the IBM Thinkpad scissoring mechanisms. Huge PCMCIA slots and more.

I am not sure why the image link is failing.

Singnificantly those on the left don't have the same edge gaps as those on the right; the pinouts don't match, ignoring if I can the labels and other periphera. Looking it up I suspect they're both M2 cards but one has a gap in the M slot and the other has a slot in the B and the M slots, reduing the number of PCIe lanes but enabling wider compatability.

Why are they tagged whit „Huawei Mate 30 ?? „
They look cool, although I don’t have any knowledge in Hardware technology..

Whit best regards, Matthias

It's a really weird decision to have Q at the edge of the keyboard without a tab key next to it, but marketing it as a device for MMORPG addicts :p

They -really- need to swap positions between tab and caps lock on that or rethink ig. Caps lock could quite happily live on the Fn+key layer like we have it on the Pyra. How often do you use tab in web forms and web pages? All the time. How often do you use Caps lock, if ever? Otherwise it isn't a bad keyboard layout. Still - they're not thinking it through as well as I'd like to see.

GPD Win Max will again use a screen that could cause rotational problems:

I understand that custom parts are expensive and they made the best compromise they could. Nevertheless, it's kind of a bummer.
