Gp2x Review

Hmmm, I donno, but the buttons seem to be made out of really cheap plastic :(

I really hope that this isn't how the final unit is build, or at least that the final unit doesn't feel like this unit 'looks'.

I was expecting it to have a build quality similar to the GP32, but this (exspecially the buttons) look more like a cheap $9.99 kids toy from the supermarket :(

*starts to regret his decision to preorder for the first time a little bit*

I'm not seeing what you're talking about, the buttons look fine. Do you mean how they are not glossy?

Thanx,
Stan

Look at the volume control, how the plastic 'bends in'? All the buttons also look quite loose in place :(

Last but not least, see the production faults in the main case below the volume button?

Anyways, I think (hope) this is just the case in this prototype and not in the final unit.

Hmm, I see it now I guess, the start/select buttons are a little loose, and the volume does have a slight defect. Worst case scenario is these buttons won't be pushed that much so I wouldn't worry too much. The a, b, x, y, right, and left look fine, and those are the buttons that will be pressed the most. I'm not too worried about the looseness and the volume button, I doubt it will change how the GP2X feels when played.

Thanx,
Stan

I really hope the final buttons won't look like that. Cheap toy buttons...no thanks!

As long as the buttons WORK I dont mind a little dent in them.

Anyway this is still an early preview, they seem to be suggesting there's still a few thigns to fix and adjust before it becomes a final product so maybe these buttons and some of the GUI options still need adjusting.

Uggg I hate the new stick, I liked the old one much better (the gp2x "real" picture). Also don't like the button color, I say go back to the other one.

I don't care what shade of grey they come in. Let GPH get this thing into manufacturing. I'm sure someone, or even GPH, will come up with an enterprising way to change the button colours one day.

I think a darker grey would be more fitting. Also, I would say the sides were better as a different color like the originial black model since it may be hard to see what is what on the sides.
