Hi,

I have an f100 running firmware 3.0.0 and I tried to run quake2 and psx4gp2x
quake2 has the problem that the screen turns black and stays black. It looks like the gp2x hangs in that case.

psx4gp2x is from a complete package with roms and command & conquer.
However, when I start the game the screen hangs on 'loading bios'.

Any suggestions? Please help

Thanks in advance.

For psx emulator ; try with a different bios ; also make sure it's renamed correctly as the emu will recognize it

No idea about quake2 , though. sorry about that

give quake 2 a few minutes, it takes some time to load.
yeah you're right, I realize that now.
But it's terrible slow, so I thought to change the videosettings to a lower resolution.
However, when I select video settings in the configmenu, the game hangs......

anymore hints?

Cool, didn't know you could get Quake 2 running on a GP2x, sounds like its slow though. I think with the release of the Pandora there will be a port of it that runs at the correct speed cant wait for that. Maybe even Quake 3 that would be cool, but a stretch, although they have rumored that N64 emulation could be possible so who knows, with the right texture scaling could be possible. I have collected some information about the Pandora and also some GP2x links at the site in the signature as well. Good luck with that, would be cool to see it working in a youtube video, if you do get it going. Also interested in Tekken 3, I saw someone else got that working but it was stuttering a bit.

I think its already at the lowest reslution it can go. The only thing you can really do is overclock and do set faster memory timngs.
Ive tried playing it at 250 and its still slow. It nice to try, but just isnt realistic to play.

It's just a little notch under "playable" if you can overclock to 280MHz

again, there was word of it being adapted to gpu940, but it's been very quiet for months, so we can only assume that the idea was abandoned.

right.

I realize now that quake2 is bit too much to ask to play on a gp2x.
Duke3d runs fine, so still got a nice FPS oldie to play.

But how about command an conquer (please see the first post).

Any recommendations on that?

What did you use to make your iso?
Does your iso work on a windows ps1 emu? (you can test your bios file this way also)
