Firmware upgrade instructions
--------------------------------------

*Firmware 4.0.2 should exist on GP2X. If not, upgrade to 4.0.2 before updating to 4.1.1

1. Download the firmware file
2. Decompress file and place files in the root of the SD card.
3. Turn on GP2X while holding down Select+Home
4. Firmware upgrades itself.

¡Ø Make sure you have enough battery or use the AC adapter while upgrading the firmware. If the power goes out while upgrading, it may damage the system.

* Built-in application license info:
GP2X built-in application(menu, photo, ebook) license is not GPL.

* GPL/LGPLed issue:

What's the difference with this one? The release info seems identical to the previous one. Does this fix the touchscreen for homebrew?

Good question. Can somebody please test this out. I'm sorry I can't test this new firmware at the moment...

Stephan

Ah, thanks for this information. I guess we should now bet on notaz solution...

They don't say if you have to upgrade from 4.0.2 or if you may upgrade from 4.1.0 ?
Did someone try this ? 4.1.0 -> 4.1.1 ?

Flynn

According to a mail I got from GPH, that update should fix the touchscreen issue... weird.

I'm wondering the same thing...

The touchscreen seems to be exported exactly the same way as in 4.1.0.
Maybe it works using their SDL libs, but they don't understand that nobody is using them. My hack works with this version too, BTW.

yes, it worked, but I can't see any difference from 4.1.0, except the version number change.

yes, i upgraded from fixed 4.1.0 to 4.1.1, and this update works just fine. touch screen works correctly in GP2X frontend, but not in homebrew applications.

I stopped upgrading at 2.1.1 and I think Ill stay there. Id rather not confuse my F100 with touchscreen issues. Sometimes...upgrading just does not make sense anymore (Im looking at you GPH and MS VISTA).

Edit: Haha...I just noticed my (rather old) signature down there. How ironic...

This firmware is for F-200 only. Many new F-200 users with a MK2 unit wait for a working touchscreen solution for homebrew apps from GPH. For them a new firmware is significant.
For the F-100 you're right: The 2.1.1 is definitively the best and recommended firmware.

Stephan
