Excellent Replacement Joystick

f'in amazing!!!!! i just peeled mine off and big difference!!!!

now, how easy is it to scuff the shiny screen?

Yeah the vinyl sheet thing had me fooled for a while there as well. I eventually got it. It was on so well I was afraid I was scratching the actual screen.

Would be nice if this was mentioned in any directions that come with the GP2X cause it is not.

I still have a hammerhead still sitting around. Never got up the nerve to throw it away (old style joystick connectors). I'll have to dig it out and give it a whirl.

man, I have that hammerhead controller right in front of me (also despite lack of xp drivers), but I just got DaveC's cap and I'm loving it. This one looks like it's a little thick and it must have to stand tall off the unit to avoid hitting the sides. Glad it's working for you though

dave have u ever taken the screen protector off i got sone nasty hair in the way

I'm wondering if the original poster had to modify the stick in any way. I pulled mine off and the hole was too small..

Um, didnt modify a thing.

Pulled them off the hammerhead, and stuck it on the gp2x

Worked fine, it sits a bit high but I prefer it that way.

Pulled the nubs off of my Interact Hammerhead controller.

That word "nubs" seems to be plural. So, the big question is "When are you going to send me the unused nub?"

:D

I "disabled" one by cutting it down and working on it, otherwise I would do it in a snap.

Oh well. Maybe I'll have to find me one of these controllers to "disable" myself, then.

Well mines an interact hammerhead FX so that may have something to do with the difference. I'm pretty sure it's an earlier model and it looks different from the one pictured.

Impossible to scuff, easy to get hairline scratches.

Well, some people haven't gotten any of the hairline scratches, maybe I'm just rough on handhelds. Anyways, I cut my own screen (well, some might say screen protector, but since there is a different product called a screen protector, I don't) out of glass to replace the plastic one. It looks so much better than my old one.

Yeah, I have a glass screen on mine too. I cut from 1mm glass and put the black masking on the back so it looks pretty much the same as the plastic one only scratch resistant. Putting on the masking was a pain.
