Dare We Suggest An Approx Timeframe Now?

I know there have been many guesstimations about completion/shipping dates previously, but I wondered if Craigix/ED could hazard a guess now, after now we know all that needs to be done is to mass produce the case.

Lets hope the Two Months[sup]TM[/sup] catchphrase can be put to bed....Say what you see, say what you see.

Good job guys

The answer may well be that you will see around 100 complete units once the first cases arrive. These will then ship. Then the Pandora isn't vaporware anymore!

Any idea when those first 100 will be arriving?

They won't give you dates jonlad. There are still too many variables. I might suggest some more specific questions though:

- Once the moulds get the thumbs up, how long will it take the factory to produce the first cases?
- Once case production ramps up to full speed, how many can they make in one day?

I know, I just though they may have a better idea as per ED's latest post :)

Not asking for anything set in stone, just something a little more approx, to reflect the latest information that has been given.

Then I need to add 2 weeks to allow for shipping, god damn Aus Post!

Once the moulds get the thumbs up they can produce the cases right away.

They could probably make tens of thousands a day.

That is awesome, I'm happy with that :D

So all the boards (4000) have been manufactured or just the first 100?

My question: Once the first batch is out... how long will it take to get another few thousand out the door? (like for everyone who didn't preorder)

OT: you can see I'm new here, so here's my newb question:is there anyway to change the forum format, which seems completely illogical to me at the moment. You need to click and reload the page every time you want to see a new reply string?? or am I just using an incompatible browser, Safari 4? most forums I've been on just show all pages in chronological order, so its easier to see everything everyone's posted.

October should be an exciting month. A lot of things seem to be happening this October. Planets must be aligning or something.

Go into your personal settings, select Forums tab, select "Standard" display mode. :)

If I remember correctly, this problem ultimately stems from clicking into GP32X from a google page. It saves google's settings for view or something.

The first 100 are manufactured and are about to be tested. The mold will take about 30 days. While the molds are being made they will test the 100 boards and approve more to be produced (or, less optimistically, something will be wrong with manufacture and they won't be able to start the full production run.) as every couple hundred boards are made they will be shipped to be assembled into full pandoras. The cases will probably all come in one big shipment right after they've been cast. As craig said, they must be happy with the molds before they do a full run, so they will probably get a run of 100 cases or so, test them, and if they work, OK the rest of the cases.

One comment about the above post: IIRC, the assembly is being done at the manufacturing plant. The cases'll get shipped there and then everything will be assembled. (I could be wrong about this - anyone else remember either way?)
