Hey, just a simple compilation request for those who can spare some time :

http://jonls.dk/redshift/

It's a soft to dim automatically the temperature of the colors of the screen depending on the time of the day, to ensure you do not stay awake because of your screen... :)

Same ideas as f.lux (aka xflux) but since f.lux is not open source...

Appreciate your help. Source is here: https://launchpad.net/redshift/+download

When I get back to the US, I'll see about getting it to compile. I'm not very good at programming, but since it's running on Linux in general, it's probably not going to be too hard to get it running on the Pandora.

I'm not sure if I'm going to have much luck, but I'm sure somebody around here would give me a hand if I'm doing most of the work.

I'd be mostly worried about whether we have the required X extension to change the color temperature. (I'm not enough interested to check, sorry.)

How to find it out if this is the case or not ?

It compile easily by itself, but the Python part has many dependencies...
Is the Python part for the GUI ?

If that is the case it is not really needed, even a cli version of Redshift would be great.

Yes, it seems we miss some required X extension indeed...

Here is the current "pnd" not pnd'ed of Redshift. You can launch it but it failed. Also, you have to launch it with hand defined lat/long...

It failed even if you provide the required arguments ? If that's something to do with the X extension then nothing can  be done.

Yes, it failled even with giving him -l 10:10 in the CLI, to define faked lat/long... You can try. Unzip the archive somewhere, and mount it on /mnt/utmp/redshift

then you can launch it with the scripts/redshift.sh script.

Would it be possible to try porting redshift again? Maybe the firmware updates from Notaz were helpful?  I use it on my desktop and would like to see something similar for the Pandora.

If not possible I would appreciate some pointers to adjust colors manually.
