Beck = Genius

What is Scientology ?

You must have heard of it? Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Michael Jackson's 'ex-Wife' Lisa Marie Presley, and more.

Founded by the late Pulp Sci-Fi author L.Ron Hubbard, his "Religion" draws people into a series of supposed self-help courses, personaility 'tests', and books calling these techniques 'Dianetics' that fleece followers of never ending fees. Up until the promised goal of being a 'clear' functioning as a semi godlike being. The ultimate secret being a very pulp scifi sounding bit of twaddle about humans being dragged down by the presence of alien 'body thetans' that are all the fault of alien badboy 'Xenu', as pulp scifi a name as any bad author could have dreamt up.

Ewww, Beck is a scientologist? Had no idea. Perhaps I should change the title of this thread.

Ever hear about those scientology ships? Where if your bad, you have to mop the deck in a black latex suit for punishment.

I'm not cool with supporting that type of conduct.

He and his wife are second generation scientologists. He's done concerts in the past that had their proceeds go to scientology schools.

Too each thier own I guess

this reminds me of my thinking about the whole anti-music-piracy discussion. musicians should make money with concerts and sheets. I don't see why radio-stations must pay the artists, why mp3s should not circulate in the web. It's all promotion for the concerts and there IS plenty of money to be made with concerts if people know your music.

Music-sharing is getting even easier now with smartphones, nfc and ad-hoc networks, there's just no way to stop it.

I wouldn't even be surprised if I couldn't listen to fan-interpretations of this songs because of the youtube-gema-situation :/
