Amiga emulation

lol a little bit:)

but Amiga emu would be cool, atari would be cooler
PONG!!

@Feeblez

i think it may be wishful thinking as there's a few Amiga titles that are only just running OK on machines over 1gig.

Hmmm...

Dunno about that.... I was running Amiga games at full speed on my Pentium 166Mhz back in 1998. You must be using some increadibly lame emulator! :)

Like I said - I reckon that he GP32 could handle it, but we need the programmers Pleeeeeeeease???? :D

Feeblez is talking about UAE, the painfully slow amiga emulator, so slow it defies belief because as you said Fellow would work on a P75 (i know, i had one :) and you could play games full speed + sound with frame skip 2. And on my later P120 it worked with frame skip 1.

Has anyone tried to just compile the 68k emu in arm or gcc?

yeah, i was talking about WinUAE, i tried Fellow around the same time as you guys, but compatability was poor and later it was abandoned.

I do hope it's _not_ wishful thinking as never owning an ST it doesn't get me excited anywhere near as much as a portable Amiga would!

I need for there to be an amiga emulator. There were so many great games for it. Ah lemmings.... cannon fodder.... Xenon 2.... R-Type and of course every dizzy game ever made :)

I think if there wasnt one my atheism would be confirmed <_<

There was a discussion on the GP32dev discussion group on Yahoo about this a while ago... people said in essence that there was waaaay too many custom chips to do it properly. Oh well, we can always hope :)

Well if someone could make an emulation of the Amiga then I would be totally forever greatful. Reason being I used to have an Amiga and there are same great classic games on there like Giana sisters, and especially SWOS! To be able to play SWOS on a handheld system would be terrific!! Its so addictive and simply put its the kind of game that handhelds were made for!
An Atari ST is a start but Amiga emu would simply crown the GP32 as the ultimate hand held experince ever!

Come on programmers please please please make an Amiga emulator I would pay money for one no prob!

Also Is there any chance of emulating PC DOS on GP32 as SWOS also ran on DOS on my PC?

Pinball dreams (and sequals) are already done for the GP32, but there is no english megagp, YET.

We are going to try to have the pinball series made on SMC, would people be interested in buying them? They would be around £14.99.

Also, I hope Zar will soon officially release his excellent megadrive/genesis emu, as the megadrive has some excellent conversions of amiga games.

For us retarded Americans who still think the world revolves around us, how much is £14.99 in US (roughly)?

A Megadrive/Genesis emulator??? Oh lord, I cannot tell you what just happened in my lower anatomy, as their could be children lurking.

Flack

So true... Wonderboy, you strike me as an avid fan of the great amiga.. eh? Si o no carnal?

Anyway dude. I agree.. megadrive was good but not legendary. Amiga is legendary. 30 years from now Amiga will still be talked about as the most innovative platform in gaming history.

You should join Amiga.org, great bunch of like minded people there. We all know were its at, and it aint microsoft man. Not by a long shot. Come and see whats up over there... were all awaiting the 2nd coming. And it ain't far away by the sounds of it.

Yeah Amiga.org is pretty cool, I'm a member there myself. I think an Amiga Emu would be doable, but time consuming, probably only A500 (no alien breed 3D then :( ). Fellow was really fast, and the last release was fairly stable and compatible. The reason it was so fast though, was because it was basicaly dosUAE with alot of the code converted to intel assembler. A bitch to bring over to ARM. The Acorn arm UAE would be ok, but it runs in very portable C+ (portable= slow), so large chunks of that would need converting to ARM assembler/thumb.

Alien breed, project X, dune2 (early command and conquer), mid winter, citadel (doom clone) the list goes on!

I have to agree if an Amiga emu came out for the GP32 it would crown it as the best..... well, anything, i mean cmon, the games on the amiga just cant be beat for pure fun and playability.

Like Khephren reminded me on, Dune 2... the original and to be honest still the only RTS that i would say i loved, it had piles of atmospher, fun, tactics... could you imagine it.... <sigh>

As for all the custom chips, if even the A500(+) was the only one done, you would have access to prity much 90% of the Amiga games, and to be honest, some of the best. Hey, even the fantastic Captive 2 (liberation) would run :D

<misses the old Amiga days>

hey, i could even bring over my old AMOS Professional games i wrote :D :D LOL

As others have said also, id be well willing to help in any way (financially or other) in this kind of project, would kill to have the knowledge to do it myself.

Bonks

Hey
Amiga Emu = Moonstone!!!!
Thats rights
knights of olde, lions with horns, giant dragons.
They would have to make sure this one doesnt crash like my old "special" amiga version.

Also, i think speedball 2 on GBA is not nearly as bad as every one says, i think its nostalgia glasses are damning a game that is pretty much the same as its forebares, however, it could have done with a ton of more stuff to make it more worthy, but its only £15 at play.com anyway.

has anyone used Tetris DX on GP32? getting this for GBc is a nightmare im not willing to pay ebay prices of £20+ for an unboxed GBC game from 1998.

i dont have one of these beasts yet but i am tempted, especially when the backlit effort comes out £129 at gbax, time to start saving.

a portable AMIGA :p
it would be really fantastic :)

The Amiga emu port on GP32 attract so much ppl according to this thread & also the one on the others forum , so i deeply hope that one dev team will see that & grant us our wish ;p

then I buy a GP32 :p

craigix, I doubt Digital Illusions would agree with you making a profit from their games. But if you get permission, great!
