According to the chip info it has the ability to have a sim card attached to the chip, just wondering if there are pads anywhere that it would be possible to add a sim, i'd like to have always on internet.

won't be easy

in the dev forums there is a topic about a pandaphone project

Just adding a sim doesn't make it a phone/3g modem. You need the radio parts as well.

Ah yes the radio parts forgot about them.
And 3g adapter would be sticking out (Unless you know of one small enough that I could fix it inside)

How about using something like this:

You would want it to stick out anyway really, else signal quality is going to suffer. We already have Wifi and Bluetooth running around the lid.

Sim cards are just the thing that holds the identifier information for the cellular modem. Your best bet would be to get an external one.
