A Nice Thread All About The Psp

wipeout is always an option :p a good one..

anyone tried the beats of rage mod yet?

I love and hate fifa. It's so buggy, unfinished, and only the forwards score goals, cos you run up the pitch with a midfielder and pass to your two strikers, then shoot. Whether it goes in or not is a bit of a random affair....

BUT....

I keep playing it. And sorta enjoying it! It's got something...!

beats of rage is really good, but it does take an age to load.and i mean an age.that alone, unfortunatley, puts me off playing it.otherwise it's fullspeed, looks great, blah blah

Well it`s here, My PSP that is. It actually arrived wednesday and it only took 6 days from the time i clicked the checkout button to get here from canada, Bloody great service, Thats all i can say, And no import tax whatso ever (they marked it down as $20 CA) :D .

My first impressions were, Bloody hell that looks delicate  Not the sort of thing you can just throw in a bag or stuff in a pocket (unlike the GP), And its bloody heavy for what it is (Also unlike the GP) . One of my work mates said it looked like a face off for a car stereo  .

As i mentioned in a previous post that i ordered wipeout pure with it. Well it`s one cool game (I missed it on the PC and the PSX) and have been playing quite extensively for the past couple of days and can see it lasting me a very long time :) .

I love the cool feature of the standby mode so you can carry on from where you left off, Which also kicks in if the battery dies.

I`m not sure if it`s me as i do have quite large hands, But find that the buttons seem to be set a little low down on the console and causes my righthand to start aching after playing a game for a little while, Anyone else experience this ?.

Anyway, I`m enjoying it so far, But looks as though it needs handling with kid gloves.

It`s back to wipeout for me. :D

Btw: Battery life seems pretty good from what i have experienced, Though i haven`t time it, But looks in the region of about 6 hours.

Trooper

and even longer if you get a power brick.

iam wondering...

if i were to play a network game on the psp, whats all the hardware i need?? like a wireless reuter and what else?

an online one? yeah, a wireless router or your school's or whatever wifi hot-spot. to network play with friends you don't need any hardware.

and yeah trooper, it really is delicate. you got a 1.5 firmware also, right? i still can't get myself to just use it without too much care.

Everyone should get a router! I want online PSP games, that I can play on the john!

It's just important to me!!!!

one of the greatest gaming highlights in my life was playing twisted metal head on, online while taking a dump. I was so excited that I had to call my fiance to tell her what I was doing.

Is anyone alse playing NFSU Rivals?

Man, that games gets really hard on later levels (Master & Car Specs).
I`m infact really pissed off because of the high difficulty, didn`t expect that,
cause all the NFSU tutles I have for my Gamecube were quite easy to complete.

My God, when are there gonna be any decent games for the Ds or PSP?

I am so bored of what I've got, and none of the others grabs me!

Why is Nintendoigs gonna take so long to get translated, and why so many japanese rpgs?

I just feel like a moan. But really, have any of you really truly enjoyed any of the games yet? None of them are worth more than 7/10 (even rr!). Mario would be worth an 8, but I've just finished playing it on the n64, so personally it bores me etc.......

Sorry to piss on anyones chips. It's just you get all excited, buy the hardware, then twiddle your thumbs!

Humph!

I've found a few *I* consider great on the PSP so far. Metal Gear Acid held my attention all the way through, funny since I don't generally like strategy games and definatley no card-based games. A great game IMO with lots of depth and a good length. The difficulty seems just right as well.

I keep going back to Wipeout... man that game gets friggin hard at about halfway thru... but it's addictive... I sit there playing each course multiple times now, memorizing it, mastering it... and am slowly progressing further and further. And loving every minute of it.

I LOVE Ape Escape, while not AS good as Mario DS, it's very similiar in many respects, and really is a lot of fun. I only ever played the first few levels on the PSX version so this one is fresh to me. Lots of levels and lots of monkeys to catch! A few mini games as well though nothing too fantastic, the monkey boxing is pretty fun.

Lumines.... well... nothing much to say about that game that hasn't been said already. Possibly one of the best puzzle games ever, right up there with Tetris and Super Puzzle Fighter II.

Tony Hawk is great *if* you're a fan of the series... it's just like the PS2 version but with more levels... can't go wrong there.

Hot Shots Golf... very addictive and VERY long.... you can play this one for a very long time and still not even be close to unlocking everything. Much easier to control than Tiger Woods... I imagine anyone could pick up and play this one w/o much difficulty, though it gets harder later on. I'm not even a fan of golf but I love this game.

Cheers, I will get a copy of metal gear, hot shots, and possibly Ape escape then....!

I did really enjoy ridge, if I'm honest, and played it all the way through. Fifa was ok but so buggy. Wipeout is driving me NUTS, but I still come back to it. Lumines is great-but the greatest puzzle game ever (yep-better than tetris) is Bubblets on the Pocket PC!

THUG2, only if you like these games-I don't!

But for the DS? I would love to buy another game for this. I've hardly touched it since I git it.....? Come on Animal Crossing-that's why I got it. But nintendogs...?

Sorry, nonsensical post. Want my breakfast!

Cheers again

anyone played untold legends?

i loved the arcade version of gauntlet legends, think it was on the n64 too, is it similar to this?

i love fifa so will be getting that and probably ape escape as i have come to trust the word of bast525!

bring on GTA, black and white and virtua tennis!

oh, and a soul calibur and tekken port would be great as well.

Yeah I had Untold Legends. It was the first PSP game I got rid of... if that tells you anything.

It was okay... very similiar to Gauntlet but a lot more deep with all the upgrade equipment you can find and buy and a (somewhat badly written) actual story. It's actually almost exactly like the recent PS2 game Everquest: Champions of Norrath, or like the older Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance... but somehow, it wasn't nearly as fun as ANY of those games.

It's hard to pinpoint... it was just a lot of little things that made it seem not-so-fun to me. Also, the game is freakin DARK, it was easily the darkest game I've played yet for PSP, even darker than Metal Gear Acid. Forget playing it in daytime. Heck, forget playing it unless you can lock yourself in a windowless room with no light at all. That was the final thing for me, that made me finally just get tired of it and get rid of it. I'm sure you've heard about how the PSP's screen is slow to react with very dark colors, which cause the screen to blur... well this problem is VERY bad on Untold Legends... many of the dungeons are dimly lit caves, and when you move around the screen blurs so bad it's almost impossible to be able to see what the heck is going on.

I definately recommend AGAINST getting that game unless you find it for very cheap and mostly play your PSP in dimly lit situations.

Er, I've just ordered it....

I never played the games it's based on, and am desparate for some adventuring on the psp.....

I'll let you know!

But I did also order Hot SHots golf, on your reccomendation :D

And God of War.....

God of War is frickin SWEET. Got that one for my birthday a couple weeks ago (along with Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 3). Tons of fun and just very well done all around... a tad bit repetitive... that's the only flaw I could think of. If you like action games at all you will love that game.

THUG is horrible, even on classic mode. I am a fan of these games and the originals are much, much better.

The only game I own is Twisted metal Head on, and it's great, especially since you can go online with it. Lots of fun.

I'm waiting for Coded Arms, it's supposed to be released sometime this month.
