    How's it going? (2012-03-05)

Nice to hear that the Pandora's are rolling off the assembly line. What is the pin pitch on the OMAP?

    Media Player

For me Rockbox has always been great, its a little wonky to use because it is supposed to be used as a OS. I used it for a long time on an Ipod Nano 2g. As an application on the desktop I like to use Deadbeef.

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Ohh, RCT would be fun to play on the Pandora.

Battery is damaged, but working: need advice on replacement

I think its just because it is a new development and LiFePO4 batteries are just slowly taking over.

    LiFePO4 batteries for Pandora 2?

As far as I know, they will work no problem as long as the system is built to work with 3.3 volts instead of 3.7 volts. I think currently LiFePO4 batteries are still a little rare, but they are becoming more common. The company that makes the current Pandora batteries probably also make...

Release SuperZaxxon - Beta 1.1 released

There is a thread on the forum with some people running experiments with video and audio decoding and it looks pretty successful so far.

Battery is damaged, but working: need advice on replacement

LiFePO4 batteries come in the same forms of packaging as LiPo batteries. Only difference is a slightly lower nominal cell voltage of 3.3v (LiPo= 3.7), and slightly lower capacity. However, the oxygen(?) bonds are much more stable and this makes the battery much safer. Also, LiFePO4 batteries...

Battery is damaged, but working: need advice on replacement

Improper charging and discharging a LiPo battery is just terrifying. I have my LiPo's stored and charged in thick fireproof bags. Charging is done with the charger connected through an FTDI (serial) to my computer showing me all the stats and the program has alarms for any reading that is not...

Battery is damaged, but working: need advice on replacement

I would also highly recommend not to use the battery. Lipo batteries are highly flammable. Most "soft case" lipo batteries will bulge a little under charge and high load, but any excessive bulging shows that the battery is not functioning properly and is highly dangerous. The Pandora charges the...

Anyone watch ReBoot back in the day?

Things that are in the P1 we dont want/need for P2

I think the EXT port could go and be replaced with a standard HDMI mini port. However that would mean we lose external GPIO.

Upgrade your Pandora to the new PCB

As far as I know, no page is up yet. ED has not said anything much about it yet, I think they are focusing on getting new preorders out so they can make enough money to build the old preorders first.

Hardware capabilities based on new applications

I think the top section should only have the LCD, and everything else should be in the bottom. Was there a particular reason the wifi antenna was in the top?

My first 'hey is that a...' Pandora moment

Wow that's pretty cool, seeing that there are only about 3000 out and probably around 15 000 - 20 000 people that know of it and are interested, that's a pretty rare occurrence. Did you catch his forum username by any chance?

Sounds great, seems like everything is chugging along nicely!

    Gstreamer-ti

I think right now it will not make much of a difference, but with the new 3.2 kernel it will probably make a very big difference.

Release Firmware release 1.5, beta 1 released

I think Notaz mentioned that USB host does not work until you enter a certain modprobe command into the terminal.
