Letcool N350Jp

i'm buying one, but i'm afraid i wont be much use technically.
i dont mind taking it apart and photographing the innards but it looks like that's already been done.

Ordered one, shipping with DHL. Should have some pics in a couple of days :D

Edit: I had to change my address, and the support staffer who served me was called Celery.

Please do tell once you get it! This guy might get the review up faster on this forum or even faster on this one. This looks amazing, and is hopefully similar to the dingoo... just with two player play! I'll end up getting one, even though I should just wait for my Pandora. I just think that there will not be too many updates with this device because dingoo fans are obsessed with their beloved device, so this device won't get too much of a backing.

EDIT: Here's a tip for figuring out the homepage in English. Just google search letcool.net and click on the traslate option... I'm reading it right now...

Will do, I would've actually ordered it a couple of days ago but paypal was being a bitch to me. Hopebuy ships via airmail for free, their DHL was around 20 USD.

Ordered mine - should arrive next week - will give a full report on arrival. A bit of a risk as it will probably only really shine *if* it gets hacked and someone gets linux running on it - but at worst, it will be a very solid video player :)

Couldn't resist - my name is Simon and I have a gadget problem ;-) but I needed something to fill the void until my pandora arrives...

Cheers
Simon

question... what is that other device on the letcool website? the specs appear to be the same, it just doesn't have a screen on it or something. even the google translation leaves me confused...

EDIT: also guys, check this out! seems to be more expensive... but it really isn't! there's actually free shipping with this site. also, look a little lower. it's pretty cheap in bulk order. anyone want to go in on some with me? anyone want to buy bulk then post them on ebay or sell them straight through paypal? anyone legitimately want to buy one and will pay me if i buy in bulk (through ebay or paypal)?

I guess it's just that - a stationary game console for connecting to your TV.

Heh? hopebuy.com sells them for $72 with free shipping, EACH!

Edit: My bad, I thought it was free shipping. Maybe they cancelled the free shipping hehehe

taobao sells em for $92 with free shipping, hopebuy sells em for $72 + $21 with DHL... if you buy in singles it's as if you got DHL for free. By all means get a group buy happening, maybe try on gbatemp or dingoonity as well.

sorry about previous post new to this :D
have just recieved my letcool and will post my findings later

Hi jusme,

Welcome to GP32x, Nice to hear some has actually received a Letcool. I would definitely
be interested to hear what you have to say about it, All the grubby details, If you can.

I am currently using my Dingoo, Which serves it`s purpose very well indeed, But i am
always interested in something that could maybe one day take it`s place.

Oh, Don`t worry about your previous post, I have removed it for you. :)

ok have had some time and added roms
sysem itself is exactly same size as bottom of dsi and seems to be well constructed, buttons are responsive and dpad is same as dsi,it takes micro sd cards and has a run time of 4 hours on full charge according to manual this i will test when i get chance.
pads are actually really good with a good 7foot of cable buttons seem good and free and dpads are excellent never missed a dragon punch on sf2
snes emu seems to be pretty good runs all roms i tried apart from ones with special chips, firmware problem with L+R keys turn volume up and down and cant find a way of remapping them, pads work great though and L+R buttons work as they should
md emu is good also and played all roms i have tried but again no way to map buttons so 6 button games a no no because L+R change volune again will try a six button game with pads and post results later, was fun playing herzog zwei in 2 player
gba emu is a bit slower than dingoo one and pads dont work on it L+R buttons are mapped to x+y because you guessed it L+R buttons change volume
not tryed nes emu and gb gbc yet will let you know how it goes on
videos run and look great on screen have tried my psp videos on it so might need more specific resoulution but still look good because screen is really good
overall first impressions are its a decent piece of hardware that is worth buying just to play 2 player snes and md games on but is in need of someone to update firmware or hack it but glad i bought one and hope some devs get on it.
hope this helps will post about gb gbc and nes later and will also test music player
oh by the way camera is not bad on it and is 3mp

any chance of some photos, or even better a video of the GUI in action?
really lame about L&R, makes the device useless to me unless the buttons can be remapped.

have you tried hooking it up to the tv? do the two-player function and controllers work? i agree with gibberish... pictures and especially video would be great!

yeah volume + and - work as well i think its a firmware thing because 2 pads L+R buttons work as they should
tried it on tv and works really well and pads work as they do when playing 2 player on handheld
not had time to try gb gbc and nes been busy with the kids will try them when i finally get them to sleep
the GUI is very simple and consists of pressing power button and menu cones up which has continue to rom change rom volume as if volume+ and - and L+R buttons are not enough and load and save state
will try and make video but will definately sort some pictures out
also checked out all files when connected to pc and cant find where emulators are in any of them i am not very technical but thought this may be of some use to people who know about this sort of thing
