Groundhog Day

A film with Bill Murray.

Oh and also a ridiculous festival which takes place in America in that town with the weird name- Punxsutaney. Every February 2nd, people gather round whilst a Groundhog (small rodent type creature) predicts what the weather will be like. If he sees his shadow, there is supposed to be another 6 weeks of winter. If he doesnt, well, i dont know what happens, but something weather related apparently.

Watch the film- Its surprisingly good.

The name is an old Native American word that means "punky town"; punky being these annoying little sweat flies that accumulate aroung the creek here. If he doesn't see his shadow, spring is very close and winter is not extended by 6 weeks. The reason the film was any good is because:
1. It was NOT filmed here (I'm sad to say that McDonalds is where most kids hang out and that Walmart is the only good store in town)
2. The movie has relatively nothing to do with Ground Hog Day (In fact, in Spanish culture, the movie is simply called "Stuck in Time" or "Atrapado el en Tiempo")
