Hi,
First post - and i thought I'd start with a bang..

Just got this from Mitsui...

"unfortunately I have to tell you, that we stopped our GP32-Launch today.
We were forced to do this step due to financial problems of Gamepark, which
cannot be controlled by Mitsui.
Especially the insecurity of the intellectual property rights in this
context forced us to do this step.
We hope, that you have not yet invested too many of your ressources in this
project and hope, that you and your readers accept our frank apology for
this cancellation. If you have any further questions, please contact me"

So - no release at all!!

The topic starts here.

You're just as much as a lying b******* as that other person who bragged about making a genesis emu when none were made public yet. People like you should be banned from community message boards like ours

And who looks like a bunch of twats now guys :)

How old are you???

Welcome Mad Gerald to a forum with more than its fair share of twats :)

Rock On

I don't have a clue who you two are but here are my credentials.

I've been in the video game / home computing industry since 1982. I've made TV programmes about video games (even appeared on some) / worked in video game PR / written about them / been the editor of a highly successful technology website / hell, I've even sold em!

So, what's your excuse for your negativity and general rudeness?

Ps. UK ROCKS!!

:D

Mad Gerald - who'se slightly madder than he was 30minutes ago.

Like the old saying, a picture can say a thousand words. Still, although you manually say what you are and what you've done, I do not believe your words. Perhaps if you could provide us with proof that this is true, because that's what Counter (the liar who lied about his Genesis emu) could not.

I'm not saying you are infact a liar, but you may be, because this so-called "world-shocker" announcement sounds more like a farfetched tale to me.

Until we know for sure, I can only imagine what you may say next... ;)

"Yoyo just told me, he was a minute away from completion of his secret project, but his computer was under a virus attack and he lost it all!!" <_<

SHUT UP KIRBY

The news is true. As much as you want it to , flaming someone else for telling us about it is not going to bring the GP32 to Europe :(

This is a sad day for everyone, but some good news is that the GP32 is still being launched in Spain according to gp32spain.com. It's being distributed by Virgin.

some others have reported the cancellation too..

and aren't most marketting ppl 5years old ? (atleast gamepark writes as bad as they) ;P

and remember that mitsui europe is from some place called "germany" (dunno what that is)
i know only few people from this "germany" place that speak/write good english ;)

Man, why am I the one who gets things wrong? I think you're lying from news that sounds too bad to be true and once again I am wrong -_-

And I wasnt trying to flame, I was saying I dont believe him until I had heard confirmation from someone else too, geez.

Yeah, but they should have one guy who speaks english to communicate with the english speaking part of the world.Even though english isn't my native tongue, I wouldn't dare to write as badly on these boards, let alone make official announcements.

The only weakness of the GP32 system is the lack of commerical games. Most console-users like their units because they just plug in a game-cartrigde and play. Running emulators on GP32 is not to complicated for computer-users, but a little more advanced than mounting a game-cartridge. All fans who haven't already a GP32 are truely disappointed right now! Mitsui sucks.

Well, english ain't my native tongue too.
And i think that clip was from e-mail and i bet it wasn't ment to be "official" announcement.

And for the record, gamepark doesn't have anyone who could write even that good english. (atleast none of the programmers, CEO or the PR guy they had year ago couldn't)

Kirby

Before you say you aint no twat, re-read you original post.....

"You're just as much as a lying b******* as that other person who bragged about making a genesis emu when none were made public yet. People like you should be banned from community message boards like ours "

Come on.........

Anyway, I dont really mind if it gets released or not. I got my C64, Atari ST, PCEngine and NES emulation!!! If the nothing was ever made for the machine again we still have one cool machine, and me for one is happy with my lot.

Rock On

I couldn't post a link to a story as it came via an email. This was the first place to mention it - news stories have to start somewhere. And, as it turns out - GP32x was THE place for this shocker to start..

In future - I'll post it on my own sites.... No relevance - but it'll get my sites even more coverage when other GP32 sites start reporting on it... :)

Ho Hum...

I mind, I was about to get into GP games development (not amateur), and set up on my own. Now i'm a bit fucked. I don't think the zodiac and N-gage will pay the bills. Sigh. Back to the drawing board.

Lik Sang has the official announcement:
http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3167

And that is the official statement of Mitsui's PR agency, it's in german, but its written as you'd expect it from a press agency and a large company as Mitsui is. It went to a german large videogames magazine. It repeats what Mad Geralds post said. They close with the words that they regret this step, because the demand of GP32 was huge.

Finanzielle Schwierigkeiten des
koreanischen Herstellers Game Park
zwingen Mitsui zum Rückzug aus dem
GP32-Geschäft
Hamburg, 22. Oktober 2003

what sad news! But how could this be? They said just a couple weeks ago that they had some "great" things in store for the GP, but now what? Has it all gone to pot? :( :(
