Gpe Palmtop Enviroment For Gp2x (alpha)

What is the default root password ?
"rootme" the default password for another embedded dists don´t work

thanks

I've built a new image that includes AbiWord, Gnumeric, Evince, Gaim and Dillo. Gaim now includes plugins for IRC, ICQ, MSN and others. You will need version 0.2 of Orkies Xserver installed in /mnt/x11 or else you need to modify the .gpu script. The root password is blank and can be set using the "Root Shell" in GPE.

You can download the image from: http://x11.gp2x.de/downloads/gp2x-gpe-20060617.tar.bz2

This image was build using the OpenEmbedded environment . You can follow these instructions to setup the environment. Instead of the local.conf and distro.conf files listed there you should use these configuration files instead.

Please report any problems or bugs you find.

Would it be possible to implement the Edgewrite keyboard for typing on this? It would be much easier to use Gaim and any other programs that require much typing if we had something somewhat fast for typing until we could get a keyboard.

Wait about 2-3 minutes. If nothing has happened then, then there is a problem.

I am not sure if the gp2x-gpe folder or the executable is what should be in the root but I have tried both with no luck.
This is what I have:
/mnt/sd > gp2x-gpe > root (empty dir)
chroot.static
gp2x-gpe.gpu
gpe-image-gnome-tune-arm920t_200606171953.rootfs.ext2
x11 > {too many things to list}

You'd be better off trying to get in touch with nemonoid if you can. He packages GPE up and knows more about how it works than me, but check that you have the directories set up like that and you aren't missing any files.
