Getting A Port Of Zelda Classic

As much as I appreciate the gp2x being first, I just had to rearrange it, it now says:
Linux and Mac OS X ports, and a port for the GP2X handheld, are also currently in the making, due for release with the next version, 2.11.

I thought listing the gp2x version with the OSes was silly, especially seeing as the gp2x runs linux.

joy2key is an awesome application!

i had to bump this thread ... "soon" seems like a while yet ... version 2.11? last update to the zelda classic home page was july.27.2006

seems like the project is insanely popular and swamped ... and if devs spend all day answering "when's it ready!?" the day will never come ... is there a mailing list to join for updates or anything? sitting in the dark

edit: and their forum sucks, no search!?

Even on Ultra Low quality settings .. the GP2X could never render this at an acceptable framerate, even at 320x240 .. if that's what you meant. I honestly don't know.

If it's efficiently coded, I don't see why Zelda Classic shouldn't run fine though.

ZC is still be worked on for the GP2X. It will be a version of 2.10 as opposed to 2.11 (or 2.5 once 2.11 leaves beta testing) due to memory and processor requirements. Hopefully it will be ready in the next couple of months.

I'm really looking forward to this. I think it will make a great addition to gp2x games. I give a big thanks to everyone who is in someway connected to helping this thing progress, good luck :D .

You guys are like mind readers!! I was just wondering about the status of this project. I think this may be the lastest discussion on this:

He seems to have hit a snag, but I don't think there is much motivation at this point. IMO some of us should go over there and show the developer how important this port is to us. Many of us have been looking forward to this project for almost 2 years. This would still be a huge release for the gp2x.

I'd like to see a more complete Pandora version also, but let's try the gp2x version first.

Hmm what should this be about (on that page)...

The zelda classic source code is on bittorrent for the enterprising hackers out there.
