Ok, so I'm on a fence about GP2X right now. I know there is a possibility of doing GBA at a playable speed in say a year, but I think it's doubtful. However the XGP appears to be the same basic unit. Do you think it is more likely that the XGP would be able to do GBA? Of coarse assuming that the XGP is able to run homebrew software. I know it's pretty soon to ask, but hopefully some of you can make some wild guesses.

Unless an amazingly skilled programmer makes it on the XGP, it will always stay one step behind the GP2X in terms of GBA emulation.

The XGP has no hardware that would make it easier. The issue is a developer getting the GBA's ARM7 instructions to successfully run on the ARM9 in the GP2x directly without EMULATING an ARM7, which would probably be much too slow. We already know an emulator with a C core for the ARM7 is unacceptably slow. The XGP doesn't improve on that in any way.
