Squidgesnes 0.34 Hack

I take it the term 'blitting' is referring to the transparency-hack implemnented with 0.35? Damn, if you get that working... ohhhhh yeah... :D

Decided to give this emu a shot today, and it's got more of a speed boost than I expected. Nice work!! Didn't try many games so I don't know if compatibility was down, but great to see someone working on things.

Let me also say that I like hitting the volume buttons for menu access better than holding select.

Interesting speed change - some games like Mario World or Final Fantasy 4 run perfect, while some other games (like Secret of Mana or Breath of Fire) have a terrible framerat (about 1 frame per second).

Looks like it doesn't like text boxes.

EDIT: Also it doesn't seem to accept the SNES Action buttons. Pretty hard playing games with messed up buttons.

But this looks soooo promising. Keep up the good work!

Dude, the hack is just that, a hack, and we know as much as you. Just chill, it's been out for a day. Try some more roms. And if you really need help, you have to give more information.

Allan.

@DARKGATE: did your original version crash also? the one before you replaced the GPE?

i simply renamed the hack to "squidgesnes_hack.gpe" and copied it in the same folder as the original gpe. works fine for me

B4N5H33 i have take the hack squidgesnes.gpe and replace at the old official 0.34
the 0.35 don't work me, and with this version hack 0.34 i see the menu, but when load a rom, crash the emu.
I have simply sostituited the .GPE

The first game I load always seems to crash.
Then I simply load a second one and from that time on, it works fine.

No to me crash always, when crash i can't return to load a second game, my gp2x don't work more when crash the emu.
The only version wich work me perfect, is the 0.34 (official)

Does anyone else get really bad freezes about 5-6 mins into a game?

Try shutting a window, or putting another jumper on.

* Veering back on-topic <_< *

The first game I tried was Paperboy 2, and it was unzipped ... it played fairly well, a couple of minor gfx glitches ... then I read about .zip support and tried DKC zipped.
