emulation never seems to feel right.
The controls are slightly sloppy, the colors or sounds are often wrong--the truth is there's nothing *quite* like the real thing.

don't get me wrong, neogeo emulation for example, has been very good for the longest time, but you *can* still tell the difference. Especially in the controls. At least the little man in my head that makes me pay for piracy hardware swears he can tell the difference.

The only perfect emulation I've seen is backwards compatability with the old hardware in the new system. And that's usually not the best either.
yeah, but I'm doing http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=797544 so hopefully that will make it better. Still would rather have a flash card reader, be better playing on actual hardware

http://www.tototek.com/ has inexpensive flash carts. Pretty cheap too, they can be had for only a little more than what it would cost to build your own.

I got a PC Engine flash cart from Tototek and it works perfectly. Ugly though, doesnt' come in any kind of case, just an open PCB with the chips and everything exposed <_<

I've been thinking of getting the SNES ones as well..

Take my recomendation on the SNES tototek. It doesnt come with a housing either, but it will fit perfectly inside any game housing you have. The only thing to note, is you will need a CIC-161. Its a region chip. You can order it from them, or desolder it from the same cart you robbed the housing from :)
