Hi

Still awaiting delivery, but still got some questions to ask. I know this info is all over the place, but.. well... it's all over the place, and I know other people would like a bit of a run down.

I'm particularly looking forward to using my 2x for viewing videos, So, I was wondering if people are having any problems with this function, and if they can offer any advice if i come across them. Also, general info about watching video on 2x too.

Thanks

camo

I use the video player everyday.

The good :

It played every avi-file I tried. Most of my videos are divx.
There is no need to rescale it to 320 pixels wide... Before I played videos on my palm device and I was used to scale all my videos down... with virtualdub and programs like that.
I use my dvd recorder to record mainly tv-episodes and use divx to archive them so most of my video files are at a resolution of 640 pixels wide. I somewhat shrink them to encode at lower bitrates..

So anyway no problems here. The gp2x hardware-scales everything with no problem.

The bad :

Scanlines... Without cpu/lcd-tweakers the screen suffers from scanlines

This puts strain on your brain and eyes...
You can somehow use the lcd/cpu tweakers to work around this but when using this the screen is somewhat too bright and washed out...
This seems to be a software problem and hopefully will be solved in the future.

Overall a great player, good screen but not perfect (yet)

When you upgrade to 1.2.1 your screen gets fixed. I remember i useto have lots of scanlines with fw 1.0, but now its crystal clear! :D
