OK, OK, enough of the "nice Craig", "good Craig", "what a marvellous job you are doing shipping the orders", etc., etc.

Now for an alternative view...

First, pull your finger out Craig and fix the sales page on your website! It still says "The first batch of GP2X consoles is shipping this week, but its very limited. Order now to get one from that batch. "... which is what I ordered mine on the strength of and it is plain that nobody ordering now is going to be getting one from the first batch.

Second, when you post updates on the progress here statements like 'shipping another 800 by morning' and such are totally feckin meaningless as nobody but you has a clue how many pre-orders you are working on... either post a guide to the rate you are posting and how many are left to go or just a percentage of how far you have got!

Third, make a clear statement about the date of orders which marks the cut-off between a pre-order (i.e., something that is going to be delivered imminently) and a normal order which is going to be in the December batch.

The excuse that you are busy only goes so far... you still need to communicate (and that means in an informative way rather than just a 'we are busy doing it' here) with your customers.

I am still very keen to get the unit and look forward to developing games on it but I am already feeling like I will get the unit inspite of the appalling communications from gp2x.co.uk... not a good start really is it?

Anyway, that's enough griping but I feel it needed to be said :)

I kind of agree. Some of the things that people are bitching and moaning about could easily be solved with a bit more communication and maybe a few updates on the web site. Easily done and it may cut down the moaning which is no doubt starting to piss everyone off on this forum.

It's true, just a quick response on some basic number which would only take a moment would really give the general consumers piece of mind.

Verry friendly, guys. Go and try what craig did. I can imagine what hard work it was to send all the packets to you. And what does he get, such fu**ing respones like those here. Great, really great.

Has the thought passed anybodys mind that the people that are complaining may have there orders delayed? <_<

Considering i got my confirmation email today and ordered on the 28th of september, personaly i think thats pretty good for a small company dealing with imports and international shipping.

Plus, keep in mind, this unit is months ahead of any offical release and your lucky enuf to be able to experience this hardware in it's infant stages.

I love finding out what works and what dont, it's part of the fun, and before the rumours started flying, this forum used to be a nice place to visit.

I understand your frustration, but try to keep it a nice place to visit as this my put developers off and then your unit will be a total waste of money,

Cheers, :)

mate no one is cussing anybody.....all this thread is saying is that maybe a few more updates could be made to the website and maybe a few more updates as to how orders are going.

Its YOU who are taking things to far....no one else. Its been said politley, no one is flaming........whats the problem?

[Edit] Sent by email but here it is too: GVV178204090

lol you aint ganna be getting a gp2x any time soon mate, ps. dont badmouth Craigx, he's done absolutely MASSIVE favours to the gp community, hence, he is very powerful in the gp world :) so watch what you sat to / about him, ok?

Those who agree post your order numbers here.

GPX277588916 [edited to show irony] ;)

craigix, i have sympathy both with you and the others clamouring to know when their items will be shipped.

However the chap above has a point, a little communication does go a long way. This goes for both shipping and the current "issues" that are floating about here. *I* know that as a user who has a device that is in effect hot off the fab lines I can expect some issues (and that is part of the "fun" of it all to me), but to have the userbase doing what is in effect a large amount of bug testing without them being told beforehand or being updated officially (by THE english speaking distributor) is pushing it a bit.

Yours happily if a little uncertain

Craig, I know you're doing great favours for us, but he does have a point...

I ordered on the statement that is on your sales page, not impossible to fix that, surely?

OK, second thing I'm more indifferent about, but in order to get the info that my order was shipping early December I had to e-mail you. (speedy reply though, thanks :p)

Third thing, well, I know I'm in December, but many people haven't a clue.

You are running a business craig, a full business, no matter how small. If Nintendo or Sony did this kind of thing, they'd crash by day three. All that stops me from cancelling is the sheer want for my GP2X.

You're doing a great job, but do try to keep your customers informed, eh?

i don't want to get into a slanging match or any sort of flamewar. all people are asking for is customer service or failing that a vague update.. "order between these times, expect your order between these dates".

Customer service is what brings people back to buy more from a retailer and also ensures that people will but from gbax again and not lik-sang etc

Just with the amount of other posts that are made, and the amount of times these questions have been asked why not just say... we have had roughly "1000" pre-orders "800" have been filled. Rough estimate; quick and dry so I don't get everyone's problem!?
