I intend to keep my GP32, mostly because I can program for it. :) (Anyone can program on a PC, but if you make a program and it runs on a handheld game system, it really impresses people. :D)

I have a PSP, mostly because of Lumines. :D See, the PSP is VERY glossy. Like, super duper glossy. The buttons are glossy too. That can only serve to get fingerprinted up and stuff. I end up using the screen cleaning cloth to clear the buttons more often than I use it to clean the screen. Also, my down button isn't as responsive anymore... it could be because I use it a lot in Lumines.

But then again, I really don't see the GP32 getting beat out by the bigger market. Especially since a lot of its games are 2d games, and we're a bunch of people who really like older 2d games. :D Plus, nearly all of them are homebrew, and are downloaded for free. Free games. Free. ;)

No need for the sarcasm, dude.

I bought the GP32 because I wanted to be individualistic, to have something nobody I knew had even heard of, and, of course, to play megadrive games. Seeings as the megadrive emulator is utterly awesome on the GP32, I have no reason to buy anything else. Ever.

Hell, I don't even like handheld gaming that much. I carry a laptop on an almost constant basis anyway, so it's not like I'm ever short of emulators, roms, music, films, etc, etc, etc.

The only commerical handheld game I've ever owned a legal copy of is Dungeon and Guarder, and I think I've lost that. I have no interest in the catalogue of rehashes and ports coming out for the PSP system.

So, I ask once again, why would I have any interest in the PSP?

i'm buying one this week just to see how far i can make the UMD fly across the room. It may become an olympic sport in years to come.......... cue chariots of fire theme

There would be no way that I would buy a PSP, firstly because:
1. They are too shiny
2. Their games are too fast for such a small screen it hurts my eyes
3. It wont be open source
4. I like GP32 ;)

So there, I dont understand what is so great about the PSP or the DS, 2D gaming rox, that's why i have an XBOX, cos of all the emu's and stuff for it :)

The day when PSP (or future handhelds) get perfect big screen emulator compatibility that is better than the GP32, will you sell your GP32 to fund upgrading or keep it forever as your favourite past toy!

If the community is reasonable and not too inbreed and the hardware is stable enough for people other then code hackers to use I’ll start to play with it and port stuff over from the GP32 ;). That said, the GP32’s are not on my for sale list ever (considering there 64Mb ones).

Oh, and my toys never get put to pasture. Was bored and running some demos on my Origional GB the other day.

i like gp32 as well as it is the best viable way to continue to play many 8 and 16bit games on a handheld, but i feel that there is more than enough room to have a psp in there as well as it has some great 2d games coming out for it very soon such as sengoku cannon (sequel to sengoku blaede) and also star soldier (pc engine update)

DS also has many great games too such as a new dracula (castlevania) 2d title coming very soon.

Go out tomorrow and buy yourself the lot!!
