Please, tell me what you think of it!

Do the animations run to choppy?
Are the loading times okay?
I noticed the intro and character menu being a bit too dark on my non-lit, is it okay on flu/blu?

Anything else?

Thanks in advance!

Indredibble. Its looks very cool :)

But i think the charater is too fast!

Grt it on it could be one of the best games for our gp32_console

Humm..ich hätt das ganze ja auch auf deutsch schreiben können.....

Danke!

But keep it english, not everyone understands german :D

So you think moving speed is to fast?
How about the moving speed while ducking?

Does anyone else think this?

Thanks for putting me in the credits in the readme :D

It's a while since I last played Metal Slug, but everything seemed to be running at the right speed to me. I could be wrong though.

I have an FLU and the brightness seems OK on it.

(And, on a side note, did MIK ask you to make a German version of the game? I'm just guessing, so I could be way off :p )

OK, Judgement with the BLU+:

Brightness OK
Speed OK
Animations OK
Title Screen is uber cool!

Overall, I think that this is an impressive tech demo and that if it turns into a game it will be kick-ass :D

Is this actually playable? Is it just one level or what? I'm very intersted, might try this when I get home.

It looks good and I hope that you will finish this project.
Just slow down the character animation a bit :)

It's just a tech demo at the moment, with a fixed view (as opposed to a full scrolling level). But Quiest has implemented some niceties already, such as objects appearing in front of the character as he walks behind them.

ah okay I didn't think I'd be able to try this at work but one of the computers in the office has a card reader built into it so I downloaded it... yeah it is very impressive but it is saddening as well as it's just a taste :( I am a big Metal Slug fan and would love to see even a reasonable remake for the GP... well I hope youre one of the few that actually sticks with their projects and see's them through to the end.

And yes, the guy does walk a little too fast.

Yep, that was the least I could do :)
No, MIK didn`t ask, but why do we need a german version, either?
There isn`t much text, and text there is, is very much understandable :D

I hope that, too. As long as I don`t have major problems with the scrolling or the enemy AI (which I still have to code), I`m going to finish it.

The animation or the the walking speed?
I don`t have any idea how to slow down the animation (except by changing the framerate or putting more aniframes into the fpg, but that`s crap)

The walking speed is changed, and I`m working on the jumping and a complete walkable level (first level from MSlug2).

Thanks for your help

I said I thought I was way off :p I was (obviously incorrectly) just trying to guess what the words were, based on similar English words, lol.

Yeah, you`re not far from what he said, he said that he could just wrote that in german instead of english. :)

Here:

That`s the "testlevel". There isn`t much more yet, but I think I will release a larger level + jumping enabled next weekend (easter, yeah!).

Cheers for the Screenshot, it one of the things I would love to see more of in news and updates.
Looks really good, I guess you done the title screen before I had a chance to try one out.
As for other languages, you have to remember this is homebrew. You can't expect every game to come out with 5 languages, anyway you write english fairly well and it's a common language.

Even in this early tech demo, it looks like if you transfer that over to a full game, it's going to feel VEEEERY much like the original. :) Good work.

One thing I will say is slow the character animation down a little bit. If you're unsure how to do that (I've never used Fenix before though this IS making me want to try!), would doubling up each frame be a solution? Have two frames per one frame sprite if that makes any sense...

The firing animation is perfect. Don't worry about that :)

Also, you have to hold the fire button in to fire. If you just tap it like you could in metal slug, nothing comes out but he begins the firing animation. If it's at all possible, would you be able to get it so that when you tap the fire button, he fires immediately (regardless of animation state?)

However, I feel bad for bringing these up so early. It IS a tech demo after all, and you've done a good job of making it look decent. Looks like you'll be making a lot of Metal Slug fans happy on this board after the disappointment of the previous Metal Slug version being entered into a competition and never showing up.

Keep up the good work!
