I’m an intensive care doctor. Covid patients are younger this time
NHS consultant predicts an awful winter with Covid-denier patients, bed shortages and staffing issues
In that case my vaccine invitation must have been a mistake, I am young and healthy and therefore have virtually no chance to die of CoViD-19. Getting the vaccine is more dangerous to me than getting CoViD-19 would be.The vaccine will drastically reduce the chances that you will die from a COVID infection.
I didn't get a test because I honestly didn't think I had covid. My symptoms include congestion so I figured it's probably an odd summer cold. But now I hear that symptoms differ for each variant and they can also change after you are vaccinated. A moving target. Yay.
The test for CoViD-19 is simple: if you think that you have it then you have it!
God: Michael, we have a problem.
Michael: Yes my Lord?
God: The children aren't really catching COVID-19. I need you to invent a SARS-CoV-2 disease specifically for them, and have it on my desk by Thursday.
Michael: (Oh, I'll leave something on your desk, all right. And it'll be infectious too, you rotten motherf-)
God: I can hear that, you know.
CoViD-19 has virtually no chance to be fatal unless you are very old or very sick with something else. If you are not then it is just a harsh flu. In that case, stay home and wait it out. Also, do not watch the news. CoViD-19 gets a lot less scary when you do not watch the news.Hypochondria can be fatal.
I'm more concerned about how they will resolve the debt in the coming years. (Assuming the "emergency" situation ends)That doesn't bother me so much. An incredible amount of effort was required to combat this disease, so it's not surprising it's cost an awful amount. What's more concerning to me was the way the government went about paying for this stuff, as documented in this programme:

Edit: @Phylra's post, if that wasn't clear.
