you dirty pirate

this is just what the record companies have done to stop your evil kind. the best bet would be to go for either .wma files (don't seem to be as many fakes with this) or to go the route of edonkey (seems to take longer) or do the intelligent thing and just use bittorrent!
I bet you say one thing and do the other....

Besides downloading a song on Bittorent means you will most likely have to downlaod a pack of songs (ie. the whole album which is even worse).

I would try Ares.

as stated earlier, even if you have no money, you will be taken to court and declared bankrupt.

however, very few people living at home with rents will own their own net connection, that means, no matter how much you declare your guilt, it will be your parents who are sued and possibly imprisoned.

whilst there is no firm legislation regarding copyright infrignement and p2p networks, it really is only a matter of months before people in the EU should be every bit as wary as people from the US.

Peerguardian is better in my opinion :p
It doesn't block as much and takes up more memory. Easier to set up though.
Which Version are you using???

Has anyone in the US been imprisoned for using p2p? Not that I've heard of.

Of which? I use 1.42 of Protowall. Ask on any bit-torrent forum and they'll tell you that Protowall is better.

PeerGuardian News -

"100% accuracy , 0% CPU usage, blocking of ALL protocols, kernel-level."

Sound good? - Don_PhrostByte (see forums) has provided the source code to handle core functionality at kernel-level. Pending discussions and probably some GUI development.. it looks like the PG project will be revived with the same level of performance you can expect from all similar programs that have emerged since PeerGuardian came into existance.

New PG releases will have more features besides the core improvements (linking to the new update locations, custom block/exclusion lists and more) but the kernel-level blocking of all protocols was the most important news.

Also, You only need to run this type of software when you are downloading "things" dont you??

Ok, they've changed it to match ProtoWall :)

Yes, only when downloading, unless you're really paranoid!
