GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

Hmm, now you need to press Fn for Page Up / Page Down.
No idea if that's better. Makes browsing through websites or PDFs a bit uncomfortable.

@ED

Nah not really, a lot of laptops (and UMPCs) have it the same way with Home, End , Pg Up and Dn as function keys on the arrow keys. It's the same on my macbooks for example.

Making the change not only put Home, End Pg Up and Dn in a more standard spot, but it also allowed for the addition of 6 keys as part of the change.

It may be a "more standard" spot... but I wouldn't call it a convenient spot. I really hate having to use both hands to use those keys.

It may be a tad more inconvenient to hold down Fn with your left thumb while using PgUp and Dn with your right thumb, but the change as a whole also added 6 keys which were missing. A minor inconvenience IMO (I have no problem with having to do it on my laptop, but each to there own) while on the plus side you are gaining Home ,End , Print Screen, Pause, Scroll Lock and Insert keys

Well, Print Screen or Pause could've been used together with Fn. These keys are rarely used.

Why do you need PrtScr, Scroll Lock, or Pause? I legitimately haven't found a use for them in decades.

PrtScr: Taking screen shots, use this daily at work...
Scroll Lock: well I have one use case with an x3270 emulator I use to connect to a VM/CMS system at work. Some old DOS games are hard-coded to use this button
Pause: Lot of old PC games used it. Quick Basic?

Print Screen has had an interesting history on the GPD WIN . It wasn't there initially , then people asked for it, so they added it. People also then wanted the Guide key, so they replaced Print Screen with the Guide key (not sure why the swap and not add and reshuffle) . Of course people then said, where's the Print Screen again, so it;'s been added again.

So it's gone:

Not there:
Added
Removed
Added again

Anyway, all in all I'm happy with the changes.

Can't find the Sysrq key :p I'll probably map this key to USR2 on the Pyra(but only, if the Fn key is handled in the Kernel).

I use PRT SC everyday too - both at home and work. Very useful key for capturing images/text to send to someone - especially IT, to prove what's happening on-screen isn't desired, expected or normal!

Yes but the keyboards on MacBooks (my MBP especially) are a huge steaming pile of crap. They even cut corners by using an upside-down W as an M key.

But Apple is expensive, it MUST be good! xD
Just like these new-fashioned and way to flat Apple-Mice... looking good but cut into your palms due sharp edges and are more or less unusable for gaming at all. I hope, at least these overpriced super-flat Apple Keyboards are somehow better, not tested them yet.

Yeah, they're there on my laptop too (with typographically distinct M and W key lettering!). Whenever I shell on my Pandora I do like that I can shift-page up my terminal window without having to invoke a three-fingered salute of sorts, even if I have to use unlabelled keys to do it

Ok, fair enough on the screen shot.
I stand by my "in decades" remark on the other two, however. Citing "old DOS games" doesn't do anything but prove my point. ;)
(keeping in mind this is being designed and marketed to run Windows with modern games)

If anything, I probably would have swapped the Scr Lock and Insert around. I think people use Insert far more than Scr Lock. Not that it matters to me , I never use either key

Looks like there's only a week left in the campaign on Indiegogo with $404k rasied from 1335 backers so far. My guess is that they will end up with around 1500 backers.

Of course that will increase when they do a domestic (China) crowd funding in June. It will be interesting , as by then they should have a working prototype. Hard to say how many backers they will get form the Chinese crowd, probably about 1000 I'd say. But that's a wild guess.

It's surprising really, given there hasn't been a working prototype, I can only imagine how many backers they would have got on Indiegogo with a working prototype.

Who knows. A working prototype might've had a different effect as well: It has flaws (which is normal, as it's a prototype).
It could be that some backers wouldn't have understood that and wouldn't have backed it, when they see these flaws.

Also, they would permanently ask for videos of what it can do, and if the team doesn't have time to do them, some could easily claim it doesn't work as it should, etc.

A prototype could also backfire. Without that prototype, everyone dreams about how the device will be and happily backs it :D

Hmm, makes me wonder though:
I remembered when they started the campaign, that there should've been a prototype finished before the campaign ends, based on their planned timeframes.
Seems like they're late then.

There's the latest GPD WIN Indiegogo update posted just now

Dear backers:

Here is the Structure Prototype assembled screen and keyboard, and the PCB board. Please see the pic blow:
