Hiya everybody, i was planning on releasing this tomorrow, but seeing as it all seems to work how it is, i better just get it out before i mess it up with more features ;)

heres the readme.txt as im sure nobody actually reads the damn thing (can you please quote only this on the news page?)

Hiya!

So whats new in 0.6.0?

The main 'new feature' is the inclusion of the editing functions,
these can be accessed by selecting edit while playing a game, or
selecting edit in the Game Browser. Being the first variant of the
editor, the GUI is very crude! but hopefully will give you enough
to get started on your project.

All graphic files are loaded from SMC, so you can use your own artwork
for every aspect of the game. including entitys, attacks, special
effects and tilesets.

Along with the editor, i've done minor improvements to almost every
other area, the animation system is improved, the AI is tweaked,
special effects have started to be implemented, etc.

My original plan was for this release to be technically identical to the
last . With the 'demo' maps replaced by a short playable game - however,
you lot said you'd rather have an editor. so thats what i've done :D

But as a result, The 'demo maps' are back in all there former glory (sic)

On a side note, i actually rebuilt the demo maps from scratch using
nothing but the in-built editor, so you may spot a few changes.
Read the editor.txt if you get lost, and as always report any
bugs or glitchs to me to get a mention in the credits!

Regards

Pirotic

As always, its not exactly how i wanted it - was going to add some more things into the demo but time didnt allow it, so i just quickly recreated the crazy 88 kill bill fight, lol.

You may notice one of the maps is empty (walk straight down from the first map)thats where you guys come in -

whoever can make it into the coolest map will get it included in the next demo, and if anybody fancies adding more tiles to the tileset, let me know and i'll include it in the next demo. hopefully i wont have to spend so much time making demo maps and graphics now that the editor is in.

download version 0.6.0 here

regards, and remember its only 60% complete before you pass judgement.

uploading and testing... :) will keep you posted :p

I caught myself saying, and I quote: OH MY FUCKING GOD THATS LEET.

making a dungeon-like map now, might post it this weekend as I don't have that much time :)

I like the way everything is handy, I'm always scared of using dos programs like that bmp2bin, but well it's easy now :)

you = god :)

one idea though: it's kind of tedious to use that edit menu :) maybe you could use key combinations, like the virtual keyboard in windups? if you don't get what I mean, just say so :)

damn, to bad I am at school, I dont have my gp32_console with me
I will delete my version like you said to, and again, you rock
now I have to try and implement my maps from the one into this, any help?

the map saves generated by your version should be identical mate, so install the new version, then just copy over all your map files (if it begins with map, lol) back over

the map format is complete, so any map made with this version will run on any future version, dont want to waste peoples time.

this is gonna be such a smash! :) I'm making a small map right now :) I'm not really on top of the entities and switch things yet, but I'm getting there ^^

feels great to finally be able to do something useful for this community :p what is actually the size limit on the .raw files? oh, and will it include a skills system in a further release?

i'm glad you like it,

i have a really huge 'to do' list, skills, pets, magic etc are all going to be implemented at some stage or another :)

the .raw files dont technically have a limit, but you must not resize them in this release as the engine assumes they are a pre-set size. all the data in the current release is using 35% of the GP32's total ram. which leaves plenty of room for more animations/attacks and tiles as they are needed

Sorry, Pirotic...

Im afraid that.....

YOU'RE MY HERO!

THIS GUY IS A GURU *hint, hint*

Hopefully this can move pirotic off peoples list of hate. I know there are a few people here around here that lack respect for him. Maybe this is a good time to drop it. who cares what he didnt do. LOOK WHAT HE DID...! gp32_console gp32_console gp32_console

WE need a Gigas section on the boards.

How to you add AI to an object?

You make a great job Pirotic . I can't wait for the final release. Jeust wondering, will you make a RGP, or do you make Gga just to allow newbies as me to do our own RPG ?

Agreed; some great games will be popping up b/c of this and a section to talk to/help eachother about projects would be good. Great job Pirotic.

if its an entity, go into the entity editing mode, move the cursor over the entity, press SELECT, then goto 'edit' and change the AI from there. its a bit contorted at the moment :(

And greven, i probably wont make an RPG myself - dont have the time.
