They are around £40 most places I've seen them ($19! in the US) was just wondering if it was worth picking up at that price.. what can you actually play/do with one now? I have a PS3/4.

As you already have a PS3 / PS4, the only advantage would be able to have the console in one room but the PSTV elsewhere so you can stream. You can play PSVIta games on it.

Better off with the new AppleTV or ChromeCast.

they have bundle deals with 8gb ps vita mem cards for $50 though, so thats pretty much a free ps tv

They could have been great bidget consoles + HTPC but their OS is too closed (no way to install Kodi or Plex) and it doesn't even run all the ps vita games.

Unless you have a precise use case in mind I would advise you not to buy one.

Personally, and YMMV - I think it's great (I have two!), even for the 69 quid I paid originally for the first one.

If you want to play your PS4 (doesn't work for PS3 - wish it would though) on another TV in the house and your networking is good (rock-solid stable wireless, wired or good, fast powerline adapters) and you get at least 11mbps then remote play works brilliantly. I have played probably 40 hours or so on the TV upstairs and it's great.

Could have been so much better as others say, but it does exactly what I wanted of it.

To play all of the cool PSVITA Games on TV, it might be worth the money, and you can use it whit the Youtube App to Watch Youtube Videos on TV,

But personaly, i think these Games are made for and Handheld, and plays the best on the cool OLED Screen of a Real Vita..

Its a bit like the Pandora TV Edition, unlike the Vita dosnt have TV Out..

Sadly the Vita was unsuccessful. I guess the problem is market conditions, because in my opinion the Vita was mostly a very well put together device.

I never even considered a PS vita tv.

Perhaps - the new 3DS seems to have been not as big a success as the original 3DS turned out to be, but it's perhaps unsurprising that many like me just haven't got round to upgrading, as the software's not really there yet.  But the original 3DS managed to sell many more units than the Vita even during the Vita's first year (and the 3DS's ~2nd year), so I suspect the problem was more that it didn't run Nintendo games (and Sony's old fans are more fickle than Nintendo's, and are more likely to have moved on to mobile games).

That's probably true. The fact that nintendo's customers are mostly kids may account for this disparity. That said a lot of kids have mobile phones but equally ninty's games are obviously superior to most mobile efforts.

It's fun to hack, but nowadays there is probably little to no chance you can keep it on a low enough firmware to be able to hack it good. I use mine once a month at most, and only when I feel like playing old PSP titles on a big widescreen.

My thought when buying one was "$50 canadian, comes with a dualshock 3 controller and 8gb vita card, dualshock alone costs $50... meh, might aswell"

I bought it just to play Tales of Hearts R on the big screen :)

It's a nice addition if you have a Vita, as you can just put the memory card in there and continue to play all your games and savegames stationary.

It would be nice if Sony were to implement the PS Vita Handheld as the control for the PS Vita TV so that we can use the touch screen on the Vita Handheld for games that require touch screen

Sad to see a perfectly good piece of hardware bites the dust...

Bought it last weekend, was lying around for 10 bucks at a local electronic store > already on the way out again. Only works with a PS controller (which I don't have, borrowed one for a quick test) and has only 1 GB of internal memory, which means most of the demos that are available are only installable if you buy a memory card.

Game catalogue isn't very big either. Was my first "plunge" into the PSN - store,at least the implementation on the Vita/PS TV is horrible, very unintuitive, bad lucidity, even searching is cumbersome > even Nintendos eshop is better in that regard. But to be fair, I wasn't really objective anymore after 10min of using it, especially the question everytime after "buying" (it was free) something (even if it was some stupid skin) wether I want so share it or not really got me on the fence.

Not even interested in it as a cheap DLNA - Player, Max output is 1080i and no CEC support

Now I'd consider this too, on the strength that it's cheap and mainly because you say you can play Vita games on it.

I don't have a Vita, but, I did d/l quite a few Vita games from my PS4 via the free games you get each month as part of your Playstation Plus subscription ... I always d/l all the PS4, PS3 and Vita games, as figured I'd probably pick up a Vita one day in the future and I'll then have some games in my digital library already.

But, I'm sure that as of just last month, I noticed that I could only see the PS4 free games to d/l.

As if Sony have now applied filter, to only show the games available for the system you're browsing the PSN on.

...Anyone know if that is correct, or was I wrong? Sure that I only saw the 3 or 4 PS4 titles and no PS3 or Vita ones last month.

Tomorrow is the first Tuesday of the month, so will be getting the new batch of freebies, so will take a look again

I got the Nvidia Shield TV the other day, as my media player, so I'd only pick this up just to play some PS Vita exclusives on
