Worth getting a PS Vita yet..?

Anyone who can't find quality games on the Vita, hasn't tried to hard, or just doesn't care what it has to offer.
It's not about quality games, it's about games that people want to play. In your list there's nothing special that would make me want to buy anything.

Little Big Planet  -> have it on PS3, no thank you i don't want another one.

Hot Shots Golf -> MEH

Uncharted -> no i don't want to play another one.

Gravity Rush -> MEH

Rayman Origins  -> double MEH

Rayman Legends -> MEH MEH MEH

Sonic Transformed -> another crappy sonic game?

Dragon's Crown - i don't even know what that is

Virtues Last Reward -

Sly Cooper

Dokuro

Persona 4 - already played on PS2, this game is just a rehash.

The Walking Dead -> already played on PC. I don't need it on vita.

Machinarium -> played on PC

Strangers Wrath HD -> played on Xbox, this is 10 years too late

Retro City Rampage

Sound Shapes

Escape Plan

Mutant Blobs Attack

Urban Trial FreeStyle

Hotline Miami -> already have it on PC and i can't imagine not playing this precise game without a mouse.

Limbo -> did it on PC 2 years ago

Velocity Ultra -> MEH

Guacamelee

Stealth Inc

Lone Survivor

Aqua Kitty

Super Crate Box

Tokyo Jungle Mobile -> played it on PS3 and i don't think I ever want it on Vita.

So, no, nothing convincing, sorry.

So where my Pandora is sitting here collecting dust, as I can't seem to get answers in regards to replacement parts
Have you even tried a RMA before posting your comment? I'd had my Pandora repaired before without any issue. If you tried to contact Craig, you went to Mr Wrong Person.

@ekianjo, Why do you think your opinion is more correct than anyone else's?

Just because you think some of those games are "MEH" doesn't mean others do, and just because you played a game on ps2 or xbox before doesn't mean it doesn't have value to others that have either never played or would like to play it on the move using a neat handheld console.

If you think about what you said it basically means on the same token that there is no point in having a Pandora (apart from to use applications) because you played all those games before on your Super Nintendo or Mega Drive or C64 etc

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying you shouldn't have opinions but the way you word them sometimes its like "Everyone" else should think/feel the same way, and of course this is not the case.

This is a joke right? It's not about quality games?

"Quality games=Games people want to play" This is gaming 101. If you don't want quality games, why would you want a quality handheld?

There's no argument that can be made to someone of this mindset. Any credibility you may or may not have had, just flew right out of the window :p

Yes, I made a topic in Ed's ask question area, and I also opened a ticket at his shop a month ago with no reply. So YES, I have tried to fix my problem before commenting.

And, Just For Your Information, I have a great relationship with Jackie and Debs over at Craig's shop(although Debs is now gone), and I can get a super fast reply and service anytime I need it. Sadly, Ed has the replacement parts I need.

So before you assume something, maybe you should know the FACTS. I've had several returns to Craig's shop that went very well, the same as you have had with ED. Guess what? Just because you have had great or bad service, doesn't mean others haven't had the opposite happen to them.

The same way many others love the Vita games on my list, others may not. I didn't make it for you. I listed it for the TC, who asked "what was worth playing"? I find these games to be worth playing, as do many others, as all of these games have GREAT reviews.

Oh, I forgot "Quality" isn't important to you, so that pretty much explains any comments you have made here.

@Garrett

If quality games aren't your thing, yeah, the Vita's not for you. Definitely stick with the Pandora and it's cracked cases, broken nubs, and bad LCD cables ect :p

Oh, so you're  teacher in Gaming? How old are you ? 10 years old? :D

You don't need to post a question, there's a post on Pandoralive that explains everything you have to do for a RMA. Did you even bother to check ?

Oh wait, it's even pinned down in the Support thread :

Yeah, well the shitty games you listed inside there say a lot about your perception of quality (and more than half are not even exclusive) :D Go back to your PS Vita forums and enjoy talking about the 3 games available on your uber-locked system with your teenager friends.

Since when does my opinion represent anyone else's? I speak for my part.

I don't pretend, like some people on these threads, to know the universal truth about what games are great or not, but I DO KNOW what games I want to play and they are certainly not on Vita.

Do I need to put "I THINK THIS IS" before every of my "MEH"s for you to understand it's an opinion piece?

The Pandora is a swiss army knife. It can do everything, not just gaming. That's why I use it. I have no use for a gaming only handheld nowadays. They could have made the Vita much more useful but they decided to make a PSP2 instead. Too bad for them, they didn't find the right people to sell it to, it seems. Nobody wants to buy one, at least, you can see that clearly in the sales of the Console.

Well I wanted one and I think there are some great games on the vita if others choose to not want to experience that, then it's their loss.

I like the vita for modern handheld gaming, I like the Pandora for everything else.

Well, it's sold in the millions compared to the Pandora.  Not trying to compare but you said "nobody wants to buy one..."

Sales

On December 17, 2011, the PlayStation Vita launched in Japan with around 325,000 units sold in the first few days. Sales dropped 78% in the second week ending on December 25, 2011 to 74,000 units sold.[101] PlayStation Vita sales continued to drop in subsequent weeks,[102] reaching its low since launch during the week of February 13, with only 12,309 units being sold in Japan.[103] (During the same week, it was outsold by its predecessor, the PSP, which sold 14,824 units.)[103] After its global release, Sony announced on February 28, 2012 that the Vita had sold 1.2 million units worldwide, in addition to 2 million game units.[104] The sales number was 2.2 million units at the end of June 2012.[105] PlayStation Vita sales continued to drop in subsequent weeks, reaching its all time low during the week of November 5, 2012, with only 4,021 units being sold in Japan.[106]

In North America, from November 18 to November 24, 2012 (Black Friday week) 160,000 units were sold.[107] After a price cut from ¥24,980 to ¥19,980 on February 28, 2013, sales increased nearly six times, with figures for the week of February 25 to March 3 up from 11,456 to 62,543.[108] The Vita outsold the Wii U in Japan from February 18 to February 24, shortly before its price cut.[109] During the following week, the Vita maintained strong sales, outselling the Nintendo 3DS for the first time in Japan.[110][111]

During the week following 30 June 2013, sales of the PlayStation Vita in Japan spiked to 31,271 units following the release of Toukiden, overtaking sales of the Nintendo Wii U and PlayStation 3. Vita sales during that week significantly increased over the 13,422 Vita consoles sold in Japan during the previous week.[112][113]

Edit:  Have you even done your research when you stated "nobody wants to buy one..." :p

Note to self stop feeding the troll.

... Can't help myself...

Also this community is a welcoming community we don't go round telling people to go back to their "vita" forums because we can't see over the fence.

Of course, you should be smart enough not to compare a 10 people's project like the Pandora with zero marketing to a giant like Sony who has spent hundred on millions on making the Playstation brand over the years. In that perspective, selling a couple of millions of units of Vita is VERY disappointing and you know that Sony themselves said it did not meet their expectations.

But you can live in a dreamworld and keep telling yourself they are successful. That won't change that there are not many games coming out on the system and there will be less and less with time.

You really shouldn't think I am the kind of person who does that. When there's a newbie asking for info about the Pandora I am usually in the first ones to answer questions and provide suggestions.

But someone telling me I don't know anything in Gaming, well they get what they deserve. I was simply remarking that none of the games were worth playing to me (clearly indicated in the second line of that post) and I get ad hominem attacks. Well, don't be surprised by my next answer. I'm not a carpet and I'm never the first one to cross the line.

"It's not about quality"

Why would any of you continue to feed someone who makes a comment like this?

A mod should close this thread, as there is more than enough info for the TC to make an informed decision.

Chris

If you're not the kind of person that does that then show some restraint and don't do it.

If you feel like you're being attacked be the better man and ignore it.
