The price of the memory still kinda puts me off, but there does seem to be a few decent bundles/games out there now (adore Super Stardust on PSN) my concern would be how long they keep coming..

What do you guys think..? (& what else is worth playing)

No. :)

PS: After seeing what the Pandora can do, i'm not going back to any proprietary system anytime soon. Even if it has great games. Same for home consoles, I'll skip and probably keep gaming on PC instead.

Same here. I've got more great games for Pandora and great indie games for PC without any DRM, than I can find time to play,

so skipping the big industry with its proprietary stuff until it is less of a bunch of control freaks is not hard at all.

Pandora can do...

If i must be fair, the only thing that the Pandora can do right, is emulation of consoles up to a PSX + some ported titles. I am pretty sure there must be a custom firmware for the Vita at this point, that will support emulators too. Also the Internet browsing on the Pandora is a pure torture even on the 1Ghz unit due to her hardware limitations (RAM, CPU), and we must not forget that there is a 3G version of the VITA. We do not live in 2009 anymore.

In other hands, even with a custom firmware, the OS of the Vita is still crippled and do not allow you to use it as regular tablet. So it is nothing more then a hand-held console with the feature to use internet browsing flawlessly, + PS4 streaming at some point in the future.

PS, and the Vita is cheaper then the Pandora.

I actually play the excellent homebrew collection and appreciate the long battery life and other features.

Are you running your browser from a slow SD card?

I do not encounter speed problems while browsing or downloading.

Using NAND or a class 10 card may be the solution here again.

mouhaha your post sounds very misinformed. Typing is part of browsing and how fast do you type on vita? dont make me laugh. and there are several fast browsers on Pandora and no, you do not ned a 8 core processor and 2 gigs or Ram to do browsing. anyone who claims that is a utter moron who does not check the actual memory usage of Fifrefox with 10 tabs opened.

I do not own Pandora, i wish to have one some day :)

my opinion for the browsing speed is based on some youtube videos, and some complaining about the WiFi module here in the forum.

It will be nice if this if this is no longer an issue :)

Besides, psx emulation is way better than any if the vita games available presently. i hae no burning desire to buy a vita when i see the loaofd crap they have for software.

The vita is a very well designed machice. Fits like a glove in my hands. Great dual analogue nubs, lovely big colourful oled screen, fast responsive touchscreen. very good d-pad, small face buttons that make perfect sense once you get used to them. I would say its one of the best handheld gaming specific devices yet built.

There are not too many great games imo but some is a matter of taste.

Its increasingly becoming a place to play cool indie games too.

Soul sacrifice and dragons crown are two decent titles that spring to mind; still it needs more fun vita specific games imo.

If you can get a wi-fi model at a good price then go for it I say.

The pandora is a different beast imo more computing and emulation on the go.

I have a vita and a pandora and have no need for another portable device.

Yes, most of the problems are solved in the new units and an overclocked CC unit with USB-WLAN-dongle and swapfile is fast enough too.

My Pandora is faster in browsing than my netbook, even with Firefox.

I had some PSX games before, but I really got to appreciate PSX just with my Pandora.

Graphics AND gameplay are very nice and the available collection is huge.

Well, the Vita is not my choice of device either.

I am aware about the PSX emulation on the Pandora and I know that it rocks, but I do not follow the Vita mod scene, so I am not aware about the situation with the PSX emulation there,

But as far as i remember, I do not experience any PSX emulation issues even on the original PSP with custom firmware. :)

Its not about having issues. The pandora can run the games with 2x resolution as well, and you can plug another controller in it and play on the tv screen.

Vita is dead in the water unless someone comes up with a dual boot with android for it and the GAPP's installed its dead now sony screwed it up missing key features from the original release ie hdmi out and thats just for starters

One come on people just because we all love Pandora doesn't mean we can't love vita as well.

If it comes down to picking between the 2 then you have to weigh up what you want from your device, there are some nice commercial games on the vita with great online abilities etc if that's what you care about the most get the vita.

If you only care about emulation or like to tinker with your Device then Pandora is the way to go.

Or like me if you have space in your life for both then get both :) they are both great devices.

It's so worth buying. Take opinions around here with a grain of salt. Asking about Vita here, is like asking about Vita in a 3DS forum. There's a certain bias in place before the question is even asked. I've had a Vita since launch, and I love it. There are tons of great games(retail and PSN).

The Pandora is awesome as well, but I currently can't play mine due to quality control issues. That's a problem I've never had with Vita, DS, 3DS, and any handheld for that matter and I've now had several issues with the Pandora. So where my Pandora is sitting here collecting dust, as I can't seem to get answers in regards to replacement parts, I'm playing my Vita daily.

Here are some of my favs:

Little Big Planet

Hot Shots Golf

Uncharted

Gravity Rush

Rayman Origins

Rayman Legends

Sonic Transformed

Dragon's Crown

Virtues Last Reward

Sly Cooper

Dokuro

Persona 4

The Walking Dead

Machinarium

Strangers Wrath HD

Retro City Rampage

Sound Shapes

Escape Plan

Mutant Blobs Attack

Urban Trial FreeStyle

Hotline Miami

Limbo

Velocity Ultra

Guacamelee

Stealth Inc

Lone Survivor

Aqua Kitty

Super Crate Box

Tokyo Jungle Mobile

Should I go on? I own everyone of these games and then some(except Rayman Legends, it's on my buy list). Anyone who can't find quality games on the Vita, hasn't tried to hard, or just doesn't care what it has to offer. The same can be said for any device. Last year, they had some killer deals during "black friday", so I might wait until then, but even at the current price, it's a super great deal.

I personally don't plan to buy a PS4, but if the remote play features works with ever game released and functions as well as it works for me on PS3, I'll buy a PS4 just so I can play games through the Vita. It's a super cool feature, but sadly, it wasn't used much for the PS3.

I bought my vita close to launch at $162 from amazon, played around with it for 3-5 days, put it back in the box, and left it in the closet. I see its potential, but it just isnt there now, and i have low hopes of it ever reaching its potential it being in sony hands. But then again, i really didnt buy it or the PSP because of Sony, I bought it to one day have a nice "open" system the way the psp was

I've hacked my PS vita and installed customed firmware.  PSP games and PSX games all play perfectly on it where Pandora is still struggle in the PSP realm.  Well I'm not trying to compare but I don't like the way ekianjo just dump things :)
