Please don't take pride in being a moronic cunt. "You won't solve Africa's problems by throwing money at it." is your exact quote and this is NOT what live 8 is doing. AT ALL. There are no fund raising. They are trying pressure the G8 guys to ultimately allow africa to breathe and to build their own economy by allowing them to trade. Aid is secondary to this and is not emphasised in Live 8. I'm pretty cynical about an overall success in this but the public pressure has helped write off the debt and i'm sure that the TWO BILLION PEOPLE who are watching will have some effect on the G8 leaders.

And yes Mugabe is a bad person for fucks sake. He is commiting a huge abuse of human rights you worthless sack of shit.
Well said. It seems that alot of people have completely missed the point on here - this is not the same as the last Live Aid - as they do not believe that money will solve Africas problems...

400 complain over Live 8 swearing
The BBC has received about 400 complaints about swearing outbursts by artists performing at Live 8.

Madonna and US star Snoop Dogg were among those to use bad language prior to the 2100 BST watershed.

Shows from 10 cities - including London, Philadelphia, Paris, Berlin, Rome and Moscow - were broadcast live on the BBC on Saturday and Sunday.

The BBC, which did not use a time delay during the broadcast, apologised for the swearing.

A spokeswoman for the BBC said it had received "just under" 400 complaints about its Live 8 coverage.

She added: "Millions of people enjoyed our 12 hours of live broadcasting.

"We are sorry if any offence was caused."

The number of Live 8 complaints exceeded the 240 complaints made to the BBC in May concerning its new 3D TV weather map.

In June, the BBC received 63 complaints about a scene in the documentary film Martha and Me, in which a chicken was beheaded for an organic meal.

And the corporation received 47,000 complaints before broadcasting Jerry Springer the Opera on 8 January, when hundreds of protesters rallied outside BBC buildings.

About 200,000 people packed London's Hyde Park to watch Live 8, which was aimed at putting pressure on the G8 leaders who are meeting next week in Gleneagles in Scotland.

Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Pink Floyd and Dido were just some of the stars who lined up to take part in the London show.

The 10 Live 8 concerts were broadcast by TV stations across the world. More than 140 TV channels showed the events, along with some 400 radio stations, and internet streams.

Many used feeds from the BBC's coverage, while the US-based music channel, MTV, also supplied supplying coverage to a variety of TV stations.

Organisers estimated that 85% of the world's population would have been able to tune into the event.

 Live 8 swearing is going to alter the world! Small children hearing bad words they would have NEVER heard before  is going to alter their lifestyle forever!

The faggots only complain cos they've got nothing better to do.

And I must say I agree with Craig a little on this one. They're trying to get the leaders to write off debt to the people who can afford to pay off the debt anyway, so how the hell is giving dictators money helping the African population?

I laughed out loud!

I laughed when St.Bob nearly got ebay shut down cuz people were actually selling tickets ..
The Shock! The horror! That someone thought to profit from it.

That was naive! <_<

And how does allowing someone to sell goods at a reasonable price to the world, while getting hammered for tax back home from your unfriendly local dictator to fund their luxurious lifestyles help anyone but the dictator?

The swearing didn't bother me .. and I didn't gasp theatrically in front of the kids when it happened either.
If you ignore it, so will they ;)

I read something interesting the other day, I can't remeber it all of hand but basically one african country borrowed 5billion and has so far paid back around 16billion and due to the interest accrued still has 32billion to pay off.

The point of live8 was to pressure the g8 countries into dropping third world debt unilaterally as the UK has already done.

It isn't about the money you moron. It's about pressuring the leaders at G8 to open trade links and to sever debts so Africa can create a decent infrastructure for itself.

I'm a cop you idiot!
