Will This Wifi Dongle Work?

I searched the forums but I probably missed something. Is it just a matter of plugging it in, enabling USB, and then using something like Netsurf to view the internet? Some discussions look like I have to make a program or add lines to something. I just want to be sure it isn't too complicated. Just want something to check emails and the occasional web site.

Thanks!

I have both of these and they work well plug and play with the caanoo :

The second one is kinda big though..

The one you linked too looks small and cheap too but I'm not sure how well its supported.. Here's a link that might help:

Buffalo AirStation N-Technology Wireless-N150 Ultra Compact USB 2.0 Adapter. I bought one recently and it works perfectly in my Caanoo.

That one looks good too. How good is the range?
Seems to be comparable to my iPad. I was able to use NetSurf from a room two floors away from my router (Netgear WNDR3700), and outside. I used NetSurf's "search" function and loaded some Google pages very quickly ... I think they actually loaded and rendered more quickly than on my iPad. And then I realized it was Google UK ... I'm in the US.

My one concern is that the dongle's cap has a label which reads "CAUTION HOT - USB connector may be hot." And I found that it does get warm after several minutes of operation.

I don't know if this is a normal issue for these kinds of dongles, or if the heat would negatively affect the Caanoo when (if) it rises to a certain temperature.

yep it worries.
let us know how it goes, I think if dosen´t get too hot no problem, how hot does it get?

I´m thinking of getting one from BH, maybe making testing and developing easier, no sd swap and all that just to test.

I found a wireless USB card that still works, at least on my netbook.

It's a "netopia", with the model numbers TER/GUSB2-N on the back. I haven't been able to find much info on it. Does anyone know if it would work on a Caanoo? Thanks!

Well, months later, I've finally gotten to the point where I actually use this dongle quite a bit. I just finished using it for about an hour; a mix of web browsing and telnetting. It did get a bit warm, but nothing alarming. Not to the point where it could actually damage the Caanoo.
