Wiki for Installing Pandebian (Pandora with Debian)

The rootfs is unzipped on a SD, not on NAND, and boots from it, therefore it's not a reflash.

So you won't loose your warranty. I swear.

OK, so my procedure was correct.

I now can see the "boot SD:1" at boot menu.

When I activate it, then, I see the logo, then fast a black blank screen, and nothing else.

So it seems that the problem comes  frmo this image:

this image hangs at boot of the pandora

Note that you have no other alternatives since there are not available any longer:

You don't need to push R with an autoboot.txt.

Are you sure your system partition is the first on the card ?

with this image, it remains always the same result: black screen at boot.  (that I run it normally without or without holdign R key (trigger on "cockpit").

I see the linux booting but it last less than 1sec and I have no time to read what is the very early message at boot.

Linux boot gives first 10-15 lines, and then black screen.

my file is fine in terms of integrity : pandora-squeeze-1.0.5-grip.tar.bz2

I just installed debian using sd using the cdebootstrap

I boot debian

I get

pandora login

I have tried all possible things, even the angstrom login / password that I created.

login: root

pwd: root

not working

login: pandora

pwd: debian

not working

WHat is it please ?

(must rush)

I did this way

rootcd /tmp -- Again, if you downloaded elsewhere, change to that directory instead.

ar xv cdebootstrap*.deb -- We're using the archive tool to extract with verbosity our cdebootstrap package.

sudo tar -zxvf data.tar.gz -C / -- Now we're using tar to extract, with gzip support, again with verbosity, the file data.tar.gz, changing the Current directory to / so that it extracts systemwide on our NAND. We're running this command sudo so we have write permissions.

Now we just run cdebootstrap-static with a few parameters, and wait.

sudo cdebootstrap-static --allow-unauthenticated -f minimal squeeze /media/mmcblk1p1

root

Without password ?
I hhave tried too this alternative..

no password (press enter)

didnt work

got it. I had to hack the SD unfortunately.

I didnt like that I had to do cold power. so I did afterwards fsck.ext2.

Now I am insalling the minimum : ssh, openbox, ... tint2, .. and sauerbraten works btw?
