Hi,

On the running Pandebian (pandora + Debian) would you think that there is a possibility of porting/installing/compiling the Trolltech PIM applications.

I attach you a shot: http://www.lugod.org/presentations/zaurus-talk/pics/qtopia_02.png

Would be great no`? QT did a pretty good job. Actually I am considering to make a port, but this in ncurses to save lot of time with a sort of key shortcuts/bindings.

Regards

I don't recall anything, but the original Qtopia PIM stuff is years old (probabyl for the Zaurus that they were invested in at the time.) Did they get ported forward to newer QTs, or are they orphaned to QT3 or the like?

That would be your first lookup/challenge .. if they're QT3 (say), then you would have to build QT3 and them .. shoudl be fine, but would result in a pretty large package :)

Ask whatever you want.

That crazy guy already already compiled it for Slackware. :D

Slackware supports full HD DisplayLink. That's good for productivity usage.

Slackware can always show us amazing things nice distro.

I just checked. For PIM, there is in the Debian repositories, the set of GPE applications. That might be nice to do some prof. activities. I guess I must have tried gpe in the past as well. To move to Pandora, I must get a calendar first and an alarm to get up in the morning :)

Relating to your threadtitle "Pandora for Business" and

I think, and please correct me if I'm wrong, GPE is dead and isn't developt any more. Lates news on their site http://gpe.linuxtogo.org/ was in 2009!

If you are looking for a really professional PIM-tool you could try Kontact (http://userbase.kde.org/Kontact) inside Pandebian, it isn't very fast but quite useable.

Kontact components form their site:

Probably someone could do some optimizations and put it into a PND? That would be really great! Despite the Pandora is one of greatest handelds ever I'm missing a PIM-PND since the first day.

You mean to install the KDE things. It is very slow, even on a regular computer. ;)

If you have a lot of contacts, such as in business, I promise you that will have fun... waiting.

No, something more light-weight would be recommended in my opinion. Well, must install Debian or Slack to get huge repos.
