Just got myself a GPX2 after much 'umming and ahhing', mainly due to the fact that i'm a technology dunce and was worried this machine would be more hassle than it's worth  Anyhow, i need a Power Supply for it, and want to make sure i get the right one. I've looked at other threads and found some of the talk involving voltage etc a little confusing. Would anyone be kind enough to point me in the direction of the best power supply i should get for it (i want to hook my GP2X up to my tv y'see)? :) It appears GBAX are out of stock.
Also i'm not sure i understand the whole firmware thing too well either, i think my machine is Firmware 2 (Got it on May 31st from GBAX). Is this the latest firmware, and is there anything i need to be doing to get my machine up to date?
Aplogies for the serious novice-ness of this thread
Thanks in advance.

I ordered everything (including PSU and TV-Out cable) from www.gp32z.com . I highly recommend them. VERY fast shipping and all is perfect.

You can tell what firmware you have when it boots up (says on the green screen). If it's 2.0, then you are already up to date!

Thanks Zektor, i checked them out and i'll bear them in mind but ideally i'm looking for somewhere in the UK that has the power adaptors in stock. Anyone know where i can get one? :)

If you are in the UK, perhaps this shop maybe more toward your liking...

Acually works pretty slick. I'm from the states and I got a radio shack multi-voltage adapter. As long as its 3v and 1a or above it should work. Also make sure you set it up for a Negative Tip. The instructions will tell you how. And becuase it is Multi you can use the adapter for other things also: Digital cameras, PDA etc.... That way it helps justify the price tag plus shipping.

Just a sugestion.

Look on the gp2x wiki - it recommends a PSU from Argos in the UK.
Specifically Masterplug 1200mA
Argos code 982/9701
Price £7.99

Wiki is at http://wiki.gp2x.org - a good place to go to get answers to many questions.

Hi, just to tell you I have that very Masterplug model and although it boots up fine It just would not run games.

see this thread.. http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=28928&hl=

Possibly its a fault with my Gp2x as I have tried two types of PSU and in both instances it was the same no go especially as its recommended on the wiki, eventually I went for a Uniross recharger with 4 rechargable 2700 from argos which work great.

I might still buy a PSU when gp2x.co.uk get the original PSU back in stock.
