HOW TO GET YOURSELF THE PAK FILE FOR QUAKE

I know you people are interested in how to get the PAK file for Quake, and there is a 100% legal way to obtain them! If you are a person that doesn't trust everyone, that's good, keep that attitude! But READ THIS TEXT, IT REALLY WORKS!!! Many people dream of getting the PAK file for Quake, I'm sure you do it, too. So why not just make it real? IT'S SO DAMN EASY, JUST FOLLOW THE STEPS I'LL MENTION LATER!!!!
A redneck cattle farmer from Texas tried it, and he nearly instantly was able to play Quake, he said: "These small steps made my whole life better than before, TRY IT!".
A ghetto rapper from the eastcoast followed these steps: "Yo biatches, check this shit out, you'll play Quake in a minute, WORD UP YO!".
You could be one of these happy fellas, too!!! JUST FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

1 - Head down to ebay.com
2 - Search for "Quake"
3 - Either choose to buy one of the articles or bid on one.
4 - You'll get an email by the seller. Now the tricky part comes in:
5 - Put his name and email on place one of the list of people you have to give money!
6 - Send money via preferred money transaction company.
7 - Wait for delivery
8 - READ THE FUCKING MANUAL!
8 - PLAY!

IT REALLY WORKS!

the demo version, what I use cause I cant fit the real one, is 18 megs
close to doom 2, but so much better

~Octavious

i was about to yell pyramid.... but thats some funny stuff
but we shouldnt be hard on him, its not his fault he dont have the common scence to read the manual...
like my momma says.. they call it common scence because its common!
makes little scence, but then so does she

Thirdly, buying off ebay isnt helping the developers at all, since it would be second hand. Doom1 can still be bought from Id, not sure about Quake.
It isn't about helping the developers of Quake. I think they made enough money off their work already. It's about owning a *LEGIT* copy of a game, not about helping anyone. Buying used stuff is perfectly legal, both morally and by law.

so what?

owning something illegally isnt morally wrong in all cases.

Why not just download a copy of Quake instead of creating a needless second hand market where prices get pushed up by collectors and people are therefore unable to find/play certain titiles.

I dont wanna pay £70 for Chrono trigger, so I'll get the rom. Buying the game wont help anybody so whats the point.
i dont think owning software/games second hand is morally better than owning it illegally.

Why do you think that many games developers want second hand games shops shut down?

I can't think of any valid legal reason. I never heard of developers who want to shut down second hand game shops, but if there are some, they want to maximize their earnings on a morally negative basis.
So you think stealing a car from someone who doesn't need it anymore is morally on the same level than buying an used car, because the company doesn't earn money either way?

Basically, it doesn't matter if you buy your games from woolworth or used from another guy - both bought the games before and sell it to you.

I think thats a ridiculous analogy.

A car can be seen as an investment. It would be counted in a persons possessions and they would figure themselves being able to sell the car for £x into their financial planning. Therefore, it is not comparable with somebody owning and wanting to sell a
£10 videogame.

Also, if the person doesnt need the car, doesnt use the car, and definitely doesnt need the money from the car, then is it wrong to steal it?

I would have no qualms about stealing a Billionaires old car. No qualms at all.

Don is right, and alot of the things you have said, really do seem pretty ridiculous. Id deserves every bit of profit it gets from all of its titles. And the analogy had more to do with id not needing quake 1 anymore, while they don't develop for it under any circumstances, they still deserve to reep the profits from their old "car" making a few more laps around the track, if you will.

Come on. I clearly wasnt saying that Id dont deserve their profits.

In fact I said no such thing.
I mentioned Id because I would tell people to buy Doom there, but would not mention Ebay.

The only reason I said anything in the first place is because I dont think people should buy old games like that on ebay as it just makes Ebay lots of money for no reason. I think what "Id" do with Doom is alright- ie- selling it reasonably priced on their website.(and having a shareware version).
